Hi Binnie and MIT, sorry to hear you're both feeling a bit under the weather, it definitely seems to be doing the rounds. The guy who sits behind me said yesterday that he felt like he was coming down with something, now everytime he's on the phone the conversation starts off with "hi it's xxxx, happy new year, how are you?.....me?..." - and this is where it starts going downhill - "... oh I'm not feeling very well, started yesterday, bit of a sore throat etc, etc, etc...", all in that 'dying man' tone of voice:rolleyes:

Ended up doing a mini-shop tonight. Got home to discover I'd forgotten my house keys so ended up wandering around the Somerfields while I waited for OH to finish his pint and get the bus home. Normally I do a big shop at Tesco's but as I was effectivey trapped there I went round and got whatever was on special offer that I knew I would need this month, so hopefully my misdemeanour will have ultimately saved me a couple of quid.

i know, only a few months to go till the big day in Sept.

We are really lucky in that we're getting £7500 from our parents, still, we want to keep it under £10k because like I say to everyone's annoyance - its not the day itself that counts, its the marriage afterwards!

And we want kids in a few years so don't want to rack up debt doing extravagantly vulgar things that we will look back and cringe at.

    Hi Red,

Yes I have Man Flu too, but still managed to make me and DH tea.
If he is ill, then the world is ending.

lol binnie. My OH seems to suffer terribly with sympathy sickness - if I feel ill, he then feels ill, and I still end up cooking!

I'm off work again today Red, still feel rubbish.
It's awfully cold isn't it, the snow has gone though, only lasted a day.
Where I work everybody is coming down with something and I worked since Boxing Day in a draft. I work on the tills located near a door which slides open when people walk in and out, it was absolutely freezing.
I ended up buying a cheap fleece to wear on Wed, but by then I had got the bug.

I think my supervisor is annoyed with me as she is ill too and is at work, oh dear.

Chris welcome to our world. I hope you keep posting and reading ( need an insider in the Halifax :D ) . Binnie I'm sorry you still feel rubbish. So do I but cant take any more sickies at the mo so I just moaned at everyone and sneezed all over them and threatened to start wiping my nose on my sleeve :rotfl: . Still didnt send me home. I had to move desks today and the anount of cr*p I had to move was ridiculous. I asked my boss if it was in my contract to break sweat. I dont think she got the joke  .

Amazing how we women have to struggle on though even when we feel like we are at deayhs door.

Tifn the wedding will be here before you know it. I hope you will let me see the pics. Am all excited for you.

Right money saving stuff today. Got £104 from Quidco into my account and put in a cheque from RAC for refund for £30. Was going to pay it straight off of my SONY card but got the estimate in for my worktops and it is £980   . Hopefully the insurance will cover the majority of it but I will probably have to fork out a bit. B*gger !! Spent £ 6.64 on cleaning stuff but I had a £5 voucher so only £1.64 cash used. Took food into work so didnt spend any other money. Mum made us our dinner as kids were there anyway. Just over £313 to reach £40k. Exciting huh? Only £40k debt !!! .

I hope you are all dong well and feeling better x
