  • Good afternoon. I have just spent 2 hours ironing and then another hour getting quotes for my house and contents insurance. Going with Nat West so £100 cashback :j . Got the monthly payment down by £11 also so its all good. Hopefully a no spend day for me today as kids are away to their dads for a wee while and I am trying to catch up with paperwork and housework. Oh the joys  . Better go and get on with it then. Going to put on a new SOA later and see if I can cut anything else x

i'm going to have a look through some recipe books to try to use up stuff in our freezer and cupboards. drawers are breaking in freezer cos there's so much stuff in there.

there is a ton of frozen fruit from summer when i bought tons, intending to make smoothies. but thing is i can't be bothered cleaning the machine, so i hardly ever bother.

to use up some strawberries and mango last night I hand blended it and put it in glasses with yoghurt. was nice until i realised how pulpy mangoes are, it was like eating hair.

I do actually, its meant to be with fish but you could just miss that out.

Moroccan fish stew - recipe is by the hottie Bill Granger.

I'll get the exact measurements etc for you if you want but it involves ginger, cumin, cinnamon, garlic, onions, turmeric and chickpeas - oh and honey and almonds at the end.

its gorgeous. some people have even described it as "belting".
  • Hi,
Spent the last couple of days reading this thread from start to finish (yes, it took that long!). Really inspiring and picking lots of ideas up along the way. Look forward to reading further installments from you all.

Boaking at the thought of that. I must admit I have never bought chickpeas and I never intend to either. We dont eat a lot of meat as I am not that fussed on it ( too lazy to chew ;) ) but too fussy to be a veggie. I will use the toms for spag bol etc and get rid of them. Then no doubt I will panic cos I dont have any and I will buy more :rotfl: .

Smartcat. Welcome and I'm glad you find this inspiring. It helps me stay on the straight and narrow and have a wee blether with other folks. I cant believe you read the whole thing. Wow !
