My road to being a millionaire - I wish

Just a thought, have you ever considered growing some of you're own veg? If you dont have much of a garden you can easily grow lettuces, beetroot and radishes in a window box, or potatoes in a bin! You can pick up a packet of lettuce seed for 50p and with sowing throughout the summer you could easily get lots of tasty fresh lettuce. I now have an allotment which costs me a couple of bags of veg. Its in the grounds of my daughters nursery so the kids can see all the veg grow. I think i sepnt around £25 on seeds and tubers and used lots of scrap materials from work to build raised beds, cloches and polytunnels.
Herbs on a kitchen windowsill is also a good idea, so you can use them to liven up any freshly cooked meals.:T0 -

Kaz the muffins were absolutely minging. They are in the bin. I was being smart and guessing the measures for the recipe and they were like rubber:o .
That'll teach me huh. Baked tonight though and made spiced buns and 2 huge gingerbreads so that should do us a few days now. Stevesless I already have the seeds but thought I would be too late to plant them now. I have carrots, little gem and spring onions.
No money spent today:j .

Hi MIT,
It's not too late to sow any of them seeds. If you need any advice on getting them started, just let me know. I've just planted 45 Little Gem Lettuces after staring from seed 3 weeks ago. You can sow these until September.
Happy Boozing & enjoy the chinese buffet:D0 -
Hello there. Well I think I am all Harry Pottered out now.... Went to the new film last week and went and saw one of the oldies last night on the giant screen. Was at the book launch down our way. Was fab and we were out from 7.30 pm until 1am and had a ball. Kids havent taken their noses out the book so far. Lucky them !!! Wish I had time to read it
Stevesless I might just get some advice from you in a few days about planting them as it would be fab to just go out and pick fresh food for tea.
Right I have enough money for chicken and fried rice tonight. That and share of taxi in and out should only set me back about a tenner. Son had a birthday sleepover tonight and I felt really mean giving the wee lad a fiver in a home made card. It's his twins as well obviously so had to put a couple of pound in a card for her too. I'd have got a curry if it hadn't been for them :rotfl: .
Was thinking earlier that it has been a long time since I have been so skint but in reality it hasn't BUT before my LBM I would have just said sod it and spent on my credit card whereas I am NOT going to do that. Car is going in for a service on Tuesday but I am pretty sure the guy bills you so will be able to pay it on payday. Otherwise it will be bank of mum until payday. Catch up later as I away for a browse and then to beautify myselfx

As you said, it is not that you have never been this skint before, you have just not faced it before.
Now you are dealing with things you are approaching stuff in a very different way. You will get there - just stick with it!
We made muffins this week which were fine, but my last batch of scones went into the freezer because I couldn't face eating them - they were like rocks!!! Someone suggested I make a cobbler with them, because they would be disguised under custard - I reckon I could probably sell them as hardcore for someone's landscapingSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hey put them on e-bay :rotfl: with all your other treasure.
I have put 22 lots on e-bay this week. 5 days to go. Sitting at £17.50 just now and 37 watchers !! It's all good.
Bought a curry last night and it was amazing. Only ended up costing £6 and £3 for my share of taxi home so fabulous night for under a tenner. I took a bottle of wine with me and that was all I drank so other than the fact I only got 4 hours sleep I am fine and dandy.
Only money I spent today was church collection and even managed to go to Jenners and not spend. Must admit though my group of friends were all talking about going away again next year for a week and I think I might just go with them. I reckon I only have another couple of years that the kids will want to holiday with me and I just dont want to miss that. Just means my DFD will be set back a bit. Hope you dont all think I am terrible for making this decision but I am still determined to manage my money and reduce my debt and as quickly as I can but the reality is my kids will be away before I know it . Oh I am well confused now

I don't think badly of you.
You are in a different frome of mind now and know that if you want to go on holiday then other things will have to give. You have stopped overspending and you are focusing on repaying debts.
Now you need to figure out the cheapest way to have the holiday and once again it will probably be from this site that you receive the inspiration.
