Hi Taxi73. Thanks for that I am quite excited about this at the moment and really really hope I can keep it up long term. I have been reading your diary for ages now and it inspires me no end.
Bananaskinz I have already put in a request for barclaycard and M&S to be transferred. I am also transferring about £ 3200 of halifax onto 0%. I will pay off any excess from M&S and Barclaycard and close those accounts. I have decided to use both of the 0% offers and will totally concentrate on this debt for the next year so that I dont have to tart it again. This is the advice given by the snowball also so I reckon it's the right way to go. Thanks for the advice it's all invaluable.
Am back at work today and cant be bovvered :-( but hey ho the debt has to go and I need the wages to pay it off so I better straighten my face and get on with it5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

right I have worked out that I need to pay £450 per month to my cc debts to clear them by mid 2010. I know some months this will not be possible but I will have this figure in mind when making my payments. I have paid off £345.51 so far this month. I have £180 to pay to Halifax by end of the month which will bring me to £525.51 in total. I can hopefully pay another couple of pounds here and there off but I am happy enough with this. Every extra penny I get will be going on debts until they are gone. Cant bl**dy wait:o
Only spent £0.97 on potatoes today. Going to go and clear out some more stuff for e-bay/car boot. Catch you all later.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

today I was desperate to buy a piece of chocolate but didn't take my purse to the canteen with me. I had taken a packed lunch and it was delicious BUT I wanted chocolate. Girl on my section was stoping for her hols and she bought 2 multipacks of mini chocolates:j . Woohoo was delighted and resisted the urge to buy it.
Went for weekly shop and spent £22.65 . Told the kids they could choose 1 treat each since I had done away with the sweet tub. DD chose huge milky bar, DS chose choc spread ( yuk) and I got a multipack of ASDA coke. Have done a menu plan for the next week and have plenty in for nibbles, lunches etc. Hopefully for the first time ever I will manage to do the shopping challenge.
Used £11 in coppers to part pay my shopping. Bought £20 petrol ( got nectar points). Received a £10 BOOTS voucher from pigsback and £12 HMV one from test and vote.
Still feeling very motivated.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I'm so pleased you are doing so well!
How about getting the kids to help you out with menu planning? I find it so boring and it will educate them in low cost healthy food too.
What's the next one you are going for? I can't remember all of your APR and can't be bothered to look (sorry!). Hi Kaz
Going to go for M&S next. Have applied to put the bulk of it onto 0% and want to pay off the rest and close it ASAP. Good idea for the kids to help with menu planning. Did it myself this week though as wanted to use what was in the fridge x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

What a rotten day. My lad has been having dizzy spells (he is 9) and he is to go for an MRI scan to check for a tumour. Have managed to shelf most of my thoughts on this after my initial hysteria but he has to go 2 weeks today. Found out when I was in work and howled my eyes out. Had been sitting plotting all the money saving I was going to do and had said last night to my pal that I wasn't taking the kids to the Harry Potter extravaganza next week as I was skint. Sat feeling really guilty about it as I know how much he will love it. Went online to check my banking and £25 I wasn't expecting had gone in. I saw this as a sign and kids and I are going halfers for the tickets. Feel really crappy tonight TBH but I am sure I will feel better tomorrow.
Paid £11 off of M&S cos had got money through from quidco. Mum made our dinner for 2nd night in a row so menu plan will last a couple of days longer. Needing to pull my socks up and get out of the doldrums.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

It is only natural to feel crappy when there is something as big as this going on in your life.
Do what you can with the moneysaving - don't go off the rails, but equally remember that you all have a life. Going to see Harry Potter is a fab thing to do.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. m-i-t that is an awful worry about your son, no wonder you are feeling crappy.
You are making great progress on moneysaving so you don't need to feel bad about treating yourselves to Harry Potter tickets - hope you all enjoy the film.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Aww thanks guys. I am pretty sure everything will be fine but there is always a but what if it's not.

I do know what you mean. To be a parent is to be vulnerable to the most terrible worries. I really hope that all is well with your son and I wish you strength in getting through the two week wait. Harry potter will be a welcome distraction.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
