  • WOW !!Thanks folks that means a lot to me.
Aren't kids just great. We went to the hospital today and I was trying to be allcool calm and collectedand then DS asked if he would be naked for scan and when I said dunno he was refusing point blank to go. 'no way was anyone seeing his privates' I was gutting myself. It's like a chipolatta for gods sake:rotfl: . When we went there though he was able to keep all his clothes on right down to his shoes. The staff were lovely and he was an absolute star. For a wee boy who just cannot stay still he did amazingly well. Cost me money though lol. Told him I'd give him a tenner if he was good so of course had to cough up. He bought a new mobile with all the money he got and he has driven me nuts with it since. Now grounded and he is in his room 'tidying' huh!! Yeah right. Feel much better now he has had it done. Might actually sleep tonight.
Got a lot of my parcels for e-bay posted today and cost me £25. Damn nuisance 4 days before payday. I didn't time that one very well. Going away overnight tomorrow to see a mate and really looking forward to chilling with her. Transferred £80 to my bank from paypal so will pay that off something when I get it. Will need to refund myself the £25 though for postage as £20 of that was for DD's school jacket.:o .
So thanks again for all the nice thoughts. Won't know anything for a couple of weeks so back on my mental shelf again. xx

  • Hi there. Had a lovely couple of days on the East coast of Scotland. Ate great food, didn't really drink, spent time with DS, DD had her pal to keep her company and I had a great yap with my pal. Had time today to read the papers for the first time in weeks and this was after 10 hours of blissful sleep. Just what the doctor ordered to be honest. Was thoroughly spoiled. Due paid on Tuesday and when I came home today I thought jeez there's nothing to eat in here. We now have 2 jellies, pot of soup, tuna and pasta, bread almost ready and 2 lots of HM biccies. My friend called and teased me about my storecupboard basics and how I can make something from nothing lol. I never used to be able to though. Before I would have just gone to the local chippy and bought dinner from there. No way now though. I only spent £20 over the weekend too and tbh if I'd really tried I could have got away with about a fiver max but hey the purse strings need loosened on occasion. Back to work tomorrow but stop on Friday for 2 weeks woohoo!!! Can't wait until Tuesday to pay some money of my debts xx

Hi MIT, glad to hear you've had a lovely weekend - and been increadibly busy in the kitchen ever since you got back by the sounds of it! Can I just ask - do you have a breadmaker? I like the idea of them because OH seems to eat tons of the stuff and I end up in the supermarket everyother day buying it, but don't know how the cost of making it compares to just buying a shop loaf.

  • hi red. I have a breadmaker and it has just pinged. I am trying really hard to not go and start scoffing it lol. I do really enjoy the bread from it but I am hopeless at slicing it so our sandwiches end up huge and it doesnt last long. Apparently it costs about £0.70 per loaf. The good thing is that you know exactly what is in it but I would say a shop bought loaf lasts a lot longer. I hate cheap bread though it really is the worst and one of the things I refuse to scrimp on. I'm not a brandaholic or anything I just like nice bread. Hope this helps you in your decision. x
