Cheers MIT. I hate cheap bread myself so 70p a loaf is quite a saving but I'd not considered the slice factor! OH is particularly cack-handed so I could see me ending up with mangled doorstep toast and sarnies. I might just carry on with the warburton's for the time being.

I haven't seen that down here in Leeds, although our local is a tiny Somerfield so there's not much choice. We do a big monthly shop at Tesco's but the only way I can get OH to go with me is to go at 9pm. Great for missing the crowds but it means we also tend to miss most of the fruit and veg - and bread!

  • I do a monthly shop online at ASDA. Have never paid for a delivery yet as I always manage to scrounge a coupon for free delivery somewhere. Got one coming tomorrow and kids are all excited lol. DS always chooses a jar of chocolate spread for his treat and it lasts him a couple of weeks.

My cupboards are getting a bit sparse tbh although I still have loads of rice, noodles and pasta. Not a single bit of fruit or veg left though.!!!!

Kids never ask for fruit I always suggest it or just dish it up to them but tonight DS even asked for fruit as nowt else in for munching on. Hasn't doen them any harm though. Hardly any food has been thown out and they have been eating what is there instead of moaning fo treats. I have still bought them the odd sweet but it has really been appreciated instead of being expected.
I cant wait until tomorrow to pay off some money from my debts and I cannot believe I have gone a whole month and not used my credit card.
    GO ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

well done on not using the credit card.
I found with my kids that if the carp wasn't there they ate stuff that was good for them instead, now they choose the fruit anyway.

  • :j woohoo. I love payday. It's the only day of the month that for a couple of hours I am in the black:rotfl:.
Paid all the bills that are due and o/s amount has gone down by £399.44. Not bad for a skint single mum. I honestly don't feel as if we have had to do without too much to manage it either.
Had a chippy dinner tonight for a wee treat. Was delish. Will incorporate it into my £240 shopping budget.
DD wants to be a model  . She has been accepted by an agency but they want £120 to put her on the website. I'm not sure tbh. If she really wants to do it she can pay it herself:p . She asked her dad and he has said he will give her some money towards it. Pity he can't give the same importance to food, school uniforms etc. OOps must have had some lemon today and all bitter now.
Doing E-halletts challenge and going to really try and pay off M&S this month. Better go and photograph more e-bay treasures.
    xx

Good news on the debt going down!

As for the modelling, I am not au fait with these things - lardy short legged models are not generally in demand so it is probably the ONLY thing I have not been asked to part with £120 for :rotfl: Is there any way you can check out whether this is the norm for things like this. I would hate for either of you to get ripped off.
