    Hi Lunar,

I think I'm listing more than I'm selling on Ebay. My fees are too high and sales not enough.
I have done it for six years now and it's getting worse, but then I do buy to sell and I think everybody is selling handbags now like me.

Hmm I am in a wee quandary. I joined in with the long haulers as my DFD isnt until 2011 and I reckon nearly 4 years is a long haul. I mentioned on it that I have a car loan and a secured loan but that I havent counted them as debt. It has been pointed out to me that debt is debt but I am assuming I will always have a car loan and secured loan was for adding a room to my house and new windows so I see it as part of my mortgage. If I count these I will be lonh hauling until???? forever. Am I cheating just wanting to be free from my CC's? Opinions requested please.

I'm in the same sort of position - I owe the majority of my debt to family members and I'm lucky enough to not have to pay interest. If I count the debt I owe that is charged at a percentage, I could be debt free in about 6 months if I got my head down and worked at it, maybe even sooner with ebay and clicks.
but when I count the whole of the debt I owe I will be debt free in early 2010. That sounds so far away.

Good programme on now on BBC 2, about money and credit cards
  • Tifn does your sig include all your debt then or just the interest stuff?
I would jsut hate to get to the end of the stuff I count and then someone said nah nah you cant say you are debt free when I would consider myself to be debt free. Oh well a while before I get to that stage anyway.

Binnie I cant believe you have read all this. Welcome!!The cashback sites dont need you to spend any money there are a few things you can click through without spending and there are daily clicks. There is a useful thread on the freebies board. Have a look.

Only spent £70 today  . Had to pay for the slabs, sand and cement for patio. Looking good though. I still dont know how much it is going to cost me but I'm sure the we guy wont rip me off. Too bad its done now. Summer house is getting delivered tomorrow but DD doesnt know so it will be a mega surprise for her when she comes in from school.

hiya mit, yeah the signature includes all the debt, but at the same time as paying people off i am trying to save up for next year's uni fees so i don't get into any extra debt - plus we end our fixed rate mortgage in Jan, so we are really going to be pushed for cash.

if i can get rid of the overdraft (i reckon in about 6 months hopefully) i will have no debts accruing interest, its just the little guy on the shoulder telling me i can't buy anything cos suchabody has lent me £xxxxxxxxxxx.

Not that many xs of course, but its a real psychological thing, owing family money. you just want rid asap.

even though the snowball says get rid of "this that and the other card" you still want to give your boyfriend back his tenner or repay £50 to sister etc!

can't wait to be rid of the overdraft now. tick tock tick tock.

your daughter is gonna be well chuffed with that summer house. has it got central heating?!!

Summer house, it it warm over there ?? It's freezing here, gonna put me electric blanket on for 10 mins tonight.

The programme was just a bit of a skit really. Rich people taking the mickey out of banks etc.
Didn't miss much. I believe Martin is on soon, can't remember what day but I something advertised today. He is talking about bank charges.

Yes I read it all every word, it was very enjoyable. Sometimes I think it's just me who is a spendaholic, so it's good to read on here, it makes me feel a bit better.

Anyway I have cut two credit cards up tonight with all the reading I've done on here.
I will have to manange without them. I am still unemployed but it's a bit silly me running up the cards even more when I haven't got much money to pay them back with.

Anyway got another interview on Thursday, had one last week but didn't get the job.

    xxxxx

    Night night, sleep tight.
I wish you all the best everybody xx
  • Hell no!! I mean come on we live in Scotland why would we need heating???:rotfl: .
It will be close enough to the house to run out a wire and put a heater in it if we need to but she can just put on a wooly jumper. We wont get full use out of it until next summer but it will be great then as I will get lots of peace from the littls gits lol
I know what you mean about paying folks you know back. My mum was the first debt I paid off as I won the money from GFK and I just had to give it to her rather than to a debt as morally it would have killed me to have paid it off a stranger and not her. She told me not to bother but I also wanted to be able to say I had paid off something in its entirety and it was a smaller debt.

Got £55 profit from e-bay after fees and postage etc so will see what DD needs and use the rest towards Barclaycard. I hope my bonus is in my wages this month so I can pay off the sumerhouse in full before it accrues any interest.
    Juggle juggle juggle lol
