  • Your thread has just caught my eyes as you're a "millionaire in training". I like it!
Gosh, 8p per directory  I feel knackered by just reading about your delivery job!!! I sympathise with you. Look on a bright side, I'm sure it will not be forever. Come to the Billionaire Bootcamp :D

    hello m-i-t

I can't remember how much I got for the Yellow Pages per book but it was much more than 8p. It sounded a really good deal to start with (maybe £100 for 150 books?? can't be sure) However I had to collect them, load them up into my car, store them at home etc etc. I had to rope in my kids and even my elderly dad to get them done on time, so for the person-hours worked it came in well under the minimum wage.

Do you have to deliver them in person to each house and fill in loads of paperwork? With the YP there is this ridiculous rule that you have to hand them over OR hide them somewhere out of sight from the road and fill in a slip with details of where they are AND fill in forms for each house saying whether you delivered it or not etc etc etc I can't believe everyone bothers.

Ah it's all coming back to me now! so you have my profound sympathy - it's a horrible job!

I love helping out on my DDs' paper round though - that's easy money in comparison.

  • Heres a good tip.

    Get a tupperware box,
    Fill it with water,
    Place credit card it,
    Put in freezer.

If you wanted to use it you will need to wait 12 hours for it to defrost first!!!

    That is EXCELLENT!!

  • Redrabbit give your card to someone who will give you grief if you ask for it back I have given mine to my mum and I 'll never see it again lol but I am happy to know it is still there just incase.
Sea I am shattered. My DD was helping me today and she hurt her knee so I ended up on my own. I gave up after 5 hours as I was fit to drop, I was mega sweaty  and my feet were agony. I was in house 10 mins and had had a shower and washed my hair. Some doors are really minging. We have worked about 9 hours so far and only about half way. Going to work out at about £7 per hour which is ok but really having to physically graft for it. The houses we were doing today were massive and I mean massive. Some of them couldnt even be seen from the road!!!!!!!

My smashing wee mum took DD and I out for dinner tonight and I am now stuffed to the gills.

The weather has been glorious here today for a change. My cheeks are all sunburnt. I have been mega skint this month due to paying so much off at the beginning of it but I am nearly at the end of the month and we are still alive and well. Just goes to show it can be done but I really dont like things being just so tight. I will wait until about the middle of the month next month before I pay any extra off. Hope everyone is well xx

HI m-i-t - that sounds familiar, it's completely exhausting isn't it? But £7/hour sounds OK. I'm sure mine worked out much less than that as I had to share my earnings with four kids! How many more have you got to deliver?

all thoes deliveries should help with the weight loss!

The first time i saw the idea about freezing the cc was that i could always use the hair-dryer to get it quicker. i promptly chopped it up after that.

glad you had a nice meal with mum.
