  • oh gawd I wish it was nice here. It would have been fun otherwise. It was a local one and we were having a right laugh but weather totally ruined it unfortunately. Never mind it's always a bit extra in the coffers.

  • SCREAAAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have written big long entries twice and lost both.
Was trying to say that this week I will be solvent and very glad about that I am too.
Am looking for cheapest way to get a pressie for DS's Christmas. Will use vouchers and nectar points to get as much off as I can.

Was on the snowball tonight and that thing really really motivates you. I was feeling a bit wretched to be honest as I have been so mega skint the last two weeks but it is so worth it when you look at how the debt will disappear eventually. The main thing is to keep going and not add any more. I worked out that if I dont add to my debt and carry on paying out the same amount every month then I can be debt and mortgage free in 12 years. Bloody hell!!!! I doubt I will get through 12 years with no debt though or setbacks but just goes to show it can be done. Bye for now xx

  • I have a confession to make and I hope you will understand. I have redone my mortgage today so that I could get onto a fixed rate as I have had 3 rises this year already and it is scaring me that the rate will scoot up. I have been with a company for years who do not do fixed rates and this is the first time I have had equity to be able to move. Problem was that I had too much in outgoings per month and to get the loan I have had to consolidate my sony card  . Now I know it is a bad idea to change debt from unsecured to secured BUT I am making myself a promise that I will concentrate on my other credit card debt for Halifax and then I will pay everything I have to the mortgage. I hope to pay off the 3.5k within 3 years and then I will loosen up a bit and although I will still overpay I will cut myself some slack. Oh goody only about 3 years to go  . Why do we allow ourselves to get into these bloody circumstances. Am away to take my frustration out on my ironing. I am really happy to move from that company at last though. You have no idea how hard I have tried to escape in the past. So it's not all bad.

    Hi mit,

I havent got any debt so i cant tell you off but i am looking for a flat and i cant ever find one i like or if i like it then i cant afford it!! Anyway i have decided to give my mum, dad and little bro a holiday next year. I wont be paying for all of it but i was thinking about 75% as they are both on low incomes and i have a pretty good job so i thought why not!!! Right that is my good deed for a while!!

I hope to do ok at SW this week what about the others??

  • yo!
hi girls, i've been so busy and so hungover recently its been unreal. eaten like a greedy three ton pig. i am not optimistic about losing anything this week.
mit, on your mortgage situation, i am going to be coming out of a fixed rate in Jan. dreading it. want to be certain of what i'm paying but its so difficult if the rates change. how can i concentrate on my other debts with this worry ticking in the back of my head!!!
i am on a serious money famine at the moment, having to borrow from OH to get to work and i hate not being independent with my money. we do have a joint account for our mutual bills but each have our own spends left over. or at least he does.
my free money for October is going to be £20. hope nothing crops up that i've forgotten about.
thats a long post, sorry (yawn).
  • OMG!! Thomson directories got delivered yesterday. They are like a wall in my hallway. Started delivering them tonight in an area which is less than lovely. My kids were bug eyed by the time we finished at the state of some of the houses. I gave them a row for being snobs and spoke to a few people just to let them see they are maybe poorer than us ( didnt think that was possible :rotfl: ) but they are the same. I think they were just shocked at the deprivation more than anything. Taking more time than I thought to do the deliveries though tbh BUT an extra £100 to pay off the debt when I get paid for it.

Have been quite bad the last couple of days with the spending. I need to get to ASDA and get some food in so that we stop buying lunches as I am spending a fortune on them and it has to stop.
