  • hello hello hello!! How is everyone then?
I have been away to Peebles for a couple of days. Big festival on there this weekend and I went through with kids to stay with a friend. Had a lovely time.Spent far too much and got a dud tenner so was not a happy chappy about that  . I'm skint enough without getting dud tenners. There was no point in going back with it though as I am not known in the town so would have no chance of getting it changed. Might call them and warn them though that they may be getting targeted. Am mega skint still but just keep spending. I am off on holiday for 2 weeks from this friday and am going away for a few days. When I come back then thats it I need to sort out my finances. Diary will be getting dusted down yet again and I need to get my !!! in gear. No major birthdays or anything until Christmas so no excuses. Take care xx

    Hello everyone.

Glad to hear your back's better MIT and you had a good time at the festival. Is it a music event? Have to admit to being a complete numpty about festivals, despite Leeds holding a pretty big one each year, I've just never been one for mud and wellies. In answer to your question, OH wanted an opinion on which of two almost identical photos he should print out. We have a routine for this, he asks for my opinion, I think they're great, so he decides they're carp, then he'll eventually go back a couple of days later and like one enough to print. I'm not entirely sure he doesn't do it on purpose to show how little he thinks of my opinion.

Been finding it really difficult to motivate myself to do, well, pretty much anything to be honest. Have totally lost track of my spending the last couple of months, and despite promising myself on Friday that I would sort out my recent purchases, I haven't. However, having discovered today that I've spent nearly £1,500 on my credit cards in the past month, I reckon it won't be long before I'm back to being a DFW. Need to get a grip now.

Anyway, if I'm not back before Friday, I hope you have a great holiday MIT, and that everyone else is keeping well.

Hi MIT glad to see its not just me letting my diary lapse a bit, although i dont think you are as bad as i have been. youd debts seem to be coming down. Really hope you have a good holiday, you deserve a break. Ill have to catch up with you properly when you get back.
DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000
MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!
  • Well here it is pay away day again lol. Doesn't seem to dent the debt by much mind you. I have managed so far to pay off Argos before the interst kicks in but I have >£5oo to pay by mid August so thats a difficult one. I am going to do my damndest but with school hols etc it might be a big ask. Not overly worried as I still have available funds on my Virgin card at 0% till next July so can pay it off with that but would rather not pay the 3% transfer fee if possible.
Lunar great to hear from you I'll have a wee nosey in at your diary see how you are doing. Red GET A GRIP OF THAT SPENDING. Don't go there girl. It's too bloody easy. I could have got mine to under £15k this month if I hadn't added to me cc  .
Not going away on hols until next Monday so have a few days to get organised and enjoy some time in the house catching up. I have loads to go on e-bay and I want to get loads of other stuff gathered for a car boot sale. Might manage to get some cash towards that £500.
We have had a busy week as we have had a French lass staying with us on and off. She is coming back on Monday for another couple of days and it all costs money. Going to go to the art galleries and transport museum one day and will take them swimming another day. They are all cheap or no cost so that covers 2 days. I will look for vouchers for other things as well. I'm taking DS to pics tonight as DD is having lots of fun and he feels a bit left out. I'm hoping to lift what money I have in the bank which is £100 and try and not spend anything else at all. That will mean I will have £170 to take on hols with me and £100 coming in during the week we are away. That should keep me going nicely. I hope it works out like that.
Anyways am away for a bath and a short chill before opics. Later xx

  • yay!! no spemd yesterday. Going to try and have another one today as ther is absolutely nothing needed. DD has a friend coming to stay but I have plenty food and snacks in already so should be fine. Got my decree nisi today so thats another chapter of my life over. Really looking forward to going away next week. Kids are all excited. Going to have a wee day in Blackpool whilst we are there so no doubt that will cost a fortune lol. Never mind I will tighten the belt somewhat when I get back. I'm sure with my newfound skinflint skills I will manage. Hope you all have a nice day. Weather is rubbish here so I will try and do some of my assignment for my diploma. Once I get this one under my belt I am just about half way through. I am going to see if my work will pay for my Open University course for next year and get my backside in gear and finish my degree once and for all. Ok best go and sort myself out. Laters xx

    Hi Everyone,
Not been around much sorry. Been on holiday and came back late Sat night.
Caught up with the washing, cleaning, and ebaying now, and back to work tomorrow.
Hope your back is ok MIT. I get back problems sometimes when I walk up big hills or sometimes a slight incline. I know I'm carrying too much weight as the doc would say, but do I do anything about it, do I heck.lol.

Anyway paid loads of stuff off with the money I got from the mortage, and feel a lot better now.
    xx
  • Another wee holiday Binnie !! Good for you. How's the job these days? Glad you feel better after paying stuff off you just need to make sure you dont spend again lol.
I have managed to spend nothing again today. Am going to take £200 with me next week. Will take my cash card too but thats for emergencies only. I am going to do my damndest to make the £200 do me for the week. I hardly drink anyway so I dont have that expense and the kids will have their own money. Well thats the plan anyway. I am feeling all revved up again to get my butt in gear and pay off this debt. Just realised that I can call Halifax and get them to reduce my limit for CC by another £1000. I used to have a limit of £10.5k and its now down to £7.5k so my starting up amount owed must have been higher than I thought.Need to go for a wee while to drop off DD's mate x

Jobs ok MIT, thanks. Moved off the tills onto the shoe department and just focus on that, then in the evenings I do ebay.
Holiday was good, it was booked and paid for last year so was just the spending money we needed. Mind you the £ isn't so good compared to the euro so we spent more than we should have.

    Hope everyone is happy xx
  • Hello folks. Quiet in here recently so lets liven it up a wee bit. Just back from Holidays. Got a few days in Pontins at Southport from the £9.50 deal in the SUN. omg !!! Never again!! It was a bloody nightmare. Got there and chalet looked a bit minging but it was budget so was prepared to accept that luxury would be far away. Well ! There were horrible beasties in the loo. Hvae had to bin all my towels as they were so minging I wouldn't even think about bringing them home. The windows wouldn't close properly. The wsofa bed didn't open properly so we were sleeping on a slope. The pillows were made from cut up pieces of quilt and foam. The sheets were ripped. The carpet was torn and in the main area of the lounge the floor was a kind of rubber that was thick with dirt. We needed a wheelchair for my mum and despite calling in advance there was none available. I complained about this and got one the next day. It was ripped and had 2 flat tyres. They had the cheek to ask for £30 deposit!! As if anyone would nick that lol. The guy sitting next to us in the entertainmenmt area was boasting that he had drank 16 pints since 10.30am that day !! The smoke alarm went off at 4am and I couldnt get it to stop and had to wander the camp in my pj's to get security to help me out. No smoke just the alarm wanted to go off. I gave up and came home early as I was convinced that things were crawling on me on the bed and then the heavens opened and the whole place was flooding rapidly. Oh and guess what? things were crawling on me as they have taken big bites form me lol. I did complain but had already decided to leave as I couldn't bear it any longer. NEVER ever again lol. Sorry if anyone is already booked up for there but I would cancel it if I was you. I have been to that site loads of times but it was a long time ago and I was shocked at the differnece. No wonder the Brits head abroad as we are taken for fools here. Rant over!
I have spent too much, Surprise surprise. My monthly outgoings are now going to be really close to the wire for a while. Bit worrying to be honest considering how expensive everything is getting. Going to start my spending diary again tomorrow and get myself back on track. Hope everyone is doing well and I hope you have all had lovely holidays :p .xx

  • Good evening/morning or whatever you want to call it!
Started spending diary today. Spent £20 on petrol. Necessary evil I'm afraid. Had to go and say goodbye to the French lass we had staying with us. Her mum is here to collect her and I haven't seen her for over 20 years so it was fab to get a chat with her. My crowd of friends have an invite ove rthere next year and DD has an open invitation. Will be a cheapo long weekend in South of France for me and very cheapo holiday for DD :D .
DD will be a righ jetsetter next year between France and Austria. Poor DS will be lucky to get a holiday at all. Oops no doubt that will cause lots of moans and groans.
Ok to finish off here is a wee joke

HOW TO BE A PERFECT B1TCH

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement -- not even her parent's nasty divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best Dressed mother-of-the-bride.... ever! A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new Young wife had bought the exact same dress!

Jennifer asked her to exchange it, but she refused.
Absolutely not, I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm Wearing it,' she replied.
Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, 'Never mind sweetheart.
I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day.'

A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, 'Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it.

Her mother just smiled and replied, 'Of course I do, dear.
I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.'

NOW I ASK YOU - IS THERE A WOMAN OUT THERE, ANYWHERE, WHO WOULDN'T ENJOY THIS STORY?

:rotfl: hope you enjoyed that xx
