yes agree with thorsoak - give it time melly and don't try to introduce them too quickly. (not face to face anyway). don't forget that Mr Cat is coming into 'thier' territory! so he must be the one to be removed from any situation. JRs are territorial so Mr Cat must learn that he is there on sufferance for now.
Seroxat is a very good short-term drug - perhaps the GP felt he had been on it long enough? My OH took it for three months then got 'weaned off' over the next three months and tbh it worked well for him.
if however he hasn't taken it for some time and the others aren't working, perhaps GP could reconsider and try it again - to help him through this extremely sad and stressful time?

Princess will soon calm down - even JRs cant keep up the 'bouncing' 24/7! perhaps once Princess has accepted Mr Cat - Porky will!
right - now how are YOU melly? naturally Mr Cat has stolen our hearts and we are concerned about OH - but YOU have been affected too. I know that a small corner of your heart had affection for MIL (ok it was a small corner - but you recognised that she did have one or two good points and didn't deserve her fate). How are YOU feeling?
I know from my own MILs death - I was surprised how much I felt her loss. not just that the daily routine was completely changed, but, I felt so sorry for her. she soon peed me off again when we found out what was in her will - but that's another story and wouldn't apply to you.
    How are you?

Tired mainly. Not had time to process I think.

She knew what they would do, I knew what they would do, it's the venom I think that's got me.

melly - venom cant hurt you if you decide you are 'immune' from it. its not pleasant - but do try to let it bounce off you. You are sane, they are not - if that helps? try to think of them as deranged women who you can ignore now. and ignoring them would be the last thing they want. they WANT to upset you and OH - do NOT give them that satisfaction.
You and OH really do not have to put up with them any longer. if you both agree, you can now cut all ties to them. you block their numbers and you walk past them. you don't acknowledge them in any way. and don't be influenced by outsiders either - they don't know the facts. they may be 'relatives' but, they aren't 'FAMILY', because real family don't behave this way.

    Ok
Feel calm enough to share the comments now.
Apparently MIL didn't love OH, the jewellery doesn't have to be given as because she wasn't invited to our wedding and my dad and brothers were, and they had to get the coach back from holiday.
OH is a druggie and benefit scum

Calmed OH down by pointing g out MIL told him she loved him, they left before we could take them anywhere, my brothers weren't there and my dying dad was (for which even to MIL I make no apologies). As he gets no benefits and only has prescription medication this is just stupid.

To SIL I pointed out that she may have stolen from her dying mother but she would always be her, and on balance I'd rather be us, anx that MIL thought this would happen so had already given us ours.
MIL told me she didn't know where she had gone wrong with her as she couldn't seem to settle with anyone, when MIL had loved the same man her whole life and OH had had 2 long term relationships.
That yes MY dad was at my wedding.
And as she committed benefit fraud again her mother tells me and we claim nothing which of us was the scum.
I alo said her mother's cat was fine, thanks for asking, then I hung up and blocked numbers on my phone and OHS phone.
