There were things I don't want to think about down the sofa. As well as needles.
They haven't cleaned a thing for months.

    I am up at 6.

My guess, for what it's worth, is that isn't really a cold, but a stress symptom. I get shocking cold-like symptoms when I am stressed. I once went through a full, large box of tissues in 7 hours - all stress.

I think you need to look at doing things like taking extra vitamins and those milk shakes that have nutrition in them. Lots of people know more than me about this, so I can only say - you need home made chicken soup and hugs. I am timidly suggesting less caffeine but I would die without caffeine.

I don't know how they can live with themselves, but as far as I can see you are being a hero. You will walk away from this knowing you did the right things. How much longer do you think you will be at this acute pitch? The house will be gone soon, you never have to speak to Aunt or SIL once that has gone. There will be fallout for years for your poor OH but that won't be the same.

I have just found a site called Bored Panda which has lots of humorous pics of cats and dogs on (the cat shaming article is awesome), and there is a YouTube link here that has a rude word in its title but is very funny. I think you need those as much as you need plenty of ibuprofen and hot drinks. Good luck.

And he's had a hissy fit and hung up on me.
Why because I have reminded him I have had 3 hours sleep when he asked me where something is.

melly - time to stop this madness! you BOTH need to stop this. Melly - the house just needs to be tidy and cleared out - the Landlord will send in a cleaning team anyway. I think you said it was HA? this would be standard practice. you are working yourselves up - and why? why knock yourselves out clearing up after the evil ones? just feed and water cat and leave the house to whatever will happen.
OH is winding you up with simple questions now - and perhaps you couldn't wake him because he was sleeping the sleep of the totally exhausted. its his only escape from what he perceives as a nightmare. and you snapped because you were jealous of him sleeping!
I am not telling you off melly - I am just really concerned about you. I think you are doing too much and it really isn't necessary.
Agree with Sybil - your body is trying its best to get you to look after it and REST! now both of you take a day, or until the funeral, off from MILs. Go get some fresh air away from MILs and home for an hour or two - take those lovely dogs out for a good run somewhere - it will do them and you so much good. get a takeaway on the way home, eat and go to bed. and I forbid you to even THINK about MILs house/funeral/cat/sister/daughter! both of you seem to be carrying this situation around with you like sacks of coal! time to put the load down for good melly.
Sorry to come across as a lecturing old bat - but, I think you both have become so embroiled in this that its become your only 'way of life'.
