OOOHHH Melly - you could have some fun with the money thing! but, you wouldn't be so mean as to let them think you are even considering paying it? (where is the tongue-in-cheek smiley when you want it?).
don't worry about where and when the funeral is - there are easy ways to find out. Nice nephew will probably tell you - if not just ring the most likely florist they would use on the pretext of 'checking the delivery address is correct'. this is usually to funeral directors (if you don't have a good idea which they will use) - and the funeral directors wont refuse to give out the arrangements details.

Managing to make OH find their behaviour funny instead of getting upset. I think the fact they smashed the stuff they were stealing helped him.
Plus feel too rank (stupid cold)

Well, the expression 'THICK as thieves' DOES seem to fit doesn't it? they aren't half as clever as they think they are - as my old nan would say.

If she's having the service at a crematorium, you can phone them directly to ask when it is.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Luckily they let slip the funeral home whilst they weren't thinking and I remember stuff.
Yep Meri nowhere near as smart as they think. Plus I genuinely believe that it's cursed as it's stolen

'Things' you have no right to, bring you no joy! I believe that too melly - my nan (who was a very wise woman), believed it too.
I also believe that 'what goes around, comes around'. I think SIL is already receiving that. Aunt must have it to come. If not in this life then in the next.
