Just got in. Today has been all about the fact we weren't available yesterday.
Got 2.5 hours sleep last night and will be back to the joy that is work and the endless merry go round tomorrow.0 -
You cant keep doing this melly. You and OH sound dangerously exhausted. to the point that you could easily fall asleep at the wheel..........is it worth that risk?
You CAN arrange alternative transport for her hospital appointments, just phone the hospital and ask for her to be picked up by ambulance or one of the volunteer drivers. and its non-negotiable and guilt tripping is not going to work.
Please speak to her GP about nursing care - Macmillan is the best known but many other charities are available. YOU cannot do it all! Even in normal loving families where everyone rallies around - the additional nursing care is badly needed.
and as for visiting your SIL - couldn't her husband do some fetching? or arrange twice weekly trips. the schedule she has you on is insane.
Its barely a fortnight since you started this thread and already I can see how its affecting you. can you keep this up for months or years?
No? then please sit down with OH and work out a reasonable plan for you and OH.0 -
She's a single mum, the eldest's car blew up in October I am stuck in this until OH Decides to stop. Yesterday was a step in the right direction there was major guilt tripping done today though. He is so worn out he has gone to bed. I can't sleep.0

I agree that you can't do it all. You need more than one day off. Please think about seeing your gp if you haven't already. I know from experience that sleep deprivation causes major problems.
Both you and your oh can't be expected to take on this amount of stress, you will both end up cracking under the strain and you will get nil thanks if you end up running yourselves into the ground.
I know it can't be easy, but something has to give before the pair of you end up unwell from stress and exhaustion.0 -
Current problem appears to be the inability to sleep.
Watching the terror attack in Australia on sky. Scary puts being a bit sleepy in perspective0 -
