Hi seaside gal
Just wanted to see well done for your progress so far! You have done brilliantly in two months! Hope I can do as well as you.
I'm also trying to hide my debt from family and friends (husband not included) and it is hard but you are doing so well and I feel inspired. Little changes make such a difference.

Hello :hello: to apple muncher, crunch_time, dobbie and pippi – and a great big wave:wave: to inod who is currently far away over the ocean! – thanks for popping in everyone.:A
So start of Week 2 for Scrimp Month 2 - as my daughter stayed with me last night I had a quick run to M&S yesterday and spent £10.21 on bits for dinner – I didn’t know she was coming until she rang me yesterday afternoon –we go very retro sometimes when she is staying and have M&S chicken kievs – which is what we used to like years ago when she was still at school. Stayed up rather late and didn’t make my lunch, and then was running a bit late for work this morning and didn’t have time to make anything. So I caved in and bought a Pret baguette for £3.25.:o
Tomorrow I’m off for theatre day out so more spends here– but really looking forward to it – beautiful musical that I have not seen for years, so I will be wallowing in 1970s Vietnam (Question: what musical is SSG going to see tomorrow? – please ring premium phone line 09000 000000 at £50 per minute with answer – all monies will go to the “SSG Debt Fund”).;)
Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
Finished Emergency Fund- £10,000 April 2017

Long time lurker here, been reading the posts on and off for years.
Today I read your thread (well a significant amount) and what can I say? its me!!!! Your situation, amount of debt and how you got there has completely resonated with me........and glad to say inspired me......
Thank you seaside gal for your inspiration, and prompting me to make my very first (of many I hope) posts.
Keep up the fantastic work, you are doing brilliantly:T:T:TAngelina :A0 -
Ah Dobbi, but every little helps!
Welcome and hi Angelina. :hello:. Thank you for your lovely post - nice to have a doppelganger, although I wish our circumstances were a little more affluent! Would be really interested to read your diary - perhaps give it a go? it's really helped me as putting everything down in black and white focuses you more and you get lots of helpful advice and support from the other smashing DFWs.
I'm currently on the train winging my way up to Bonnie Scotland for my weekend away. I had a marvellous day out yesterday -musical and dinner afterwards were both wonderful. My sister's boss paid for car and cocktails again, plus dinner, which was so good of her. I'm going to send her something when I'm back to say thank you - she has saved me so much money! So total bill yesterday came to £12 for interval drinks at theatre.
Today I was good in that I took the tube (paying on my Oyster card) from my mainline station to Kings X instead of expensive cab. Spent £4.05 at Pret for cheese croissant and latte while waiting for my train to be announced and DD brought me a brownie and latte later when she joined me on train further up the line.
Will close the iPad down now as DD has finished her bit of work she was doing and I'll have to hide the Scrimp diary! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
