Parking fine - no response to appeal yet..

Options
I received a parking fine on the 28th Feb 2014. I appealed on the same day, i got an auto response e-mail.

However they keep spamming my phone every few weeks with texts telling me to ring an 0844 number followed by a ref number. There is no mention why or what it is about. I tried once to complain about the spamming but the office was closed.

It does mention DRPL which after a google search reveals it was to do with my parking mistake.

I've received no letters in the post.....

Shall I prepare myself for a letter through the post?

You need to give us more precise information.

    Time line of events?
Windscreen ticket or ANPR camera capture?
England and Wales, or Scotland and NI?
    PPC name?

Letter through the post inevitable - but depends what it is.

Have you read the NEWBIES sticky at the top of the forum index, one page back from here?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Who is the parking company? Is this England or Wales ?

    Thanks
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Simple timeline...parked my car in an area I thought was ok. Signage wasn't clear and double yellow lines were worn away..

This happened on 28th feb. I appealed the same day online according to the ticket.

Windscreen ticket. Happened in Leeds - "4-parked in a permit only parking area without clearly displaying a valid permit"

It was a company issuing ticket - JD parking consultants.

The company spamming me with texts is DRPL

I read the sticky but I haven't got a response since I appealed. They only have my phone number to spam because I put it on the form online....

Nothing in the post 48 days later...so what does this mean?

    Thanks for helping me!!!!!! :-)

I see that JD parking use PCS to manage their PCN's. Did you appeal to JD or PCS or both?

Either way, next port of call should be the BPA. Contact details are in the Newbie sticky thread. Tell them that you have appealed a PCN and not received a response within the timeline that the BPA sets out in their code of conduct.

Well this is where I get confused. I got an auto reply when I submitted the appeal on JD's website (as the ticket instructed) the email address was enquiries@parkingcsl.co.uk!!

    Contact the BPA.

It might also be worth sending another email to the appeals address telling them that you appealed on XX date and that you still have not received a reply. As they have breached the BPA code of conduct you have reported them. Also say that if you do not receive a reply within 7 days then you will take that to mean the matter is closed.

Just reading the BPA code of conduct...I can't find the timeline figure they should have responded in....

    Thanks! :-)

Sounds like I might have won!

BPA Code of Conduct, Rule 22.8

This is a stupid question but I assume you gave them a postal address? Also, where did this happen?

Haha I'm sure my questions are more stupid! They have my postal address yes. The fact they texted me proves they received the appeal!

Send a complaint to the BPA Ltd, to Steve Clark using the email address in the NEWBIES sticky thread, post #6. The complaint should simply be that you appealed and got no reply at all, and are still awaiting your POPLA code. Yet PCS (aka DRP) are spamming you with texts because you gave your number in the appeal online! This is wholly unacceptable from an AOS member and their debt collector, what's going on and you require the BPA to investigate the matter.

I hope you sent a decent appeal as per the NEWBIES thread? Not saying who was driving? If not, then at least when you do get your POPLA code, ensure the POPLA appeal will include our wining words from post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky thread. Everyone here wins at POPLA, it's just a matter of getting the code.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
