Tax Credits Renewals - 2014

hi i renewed my tax credits mid april. told not to ring b4 the 4th july. i did ring yesterday tho to be told it isnt processed. i asked if i was having extra checks, the guy on the phone said not that he could see on the system. is anyone else waitibg this long? or know what the delay could be? thankyou

I am in the exact same position. I renewed 3rd week in April and was told not to call back until 5th July. I queried why it was longer than the 8 weeks and was informed they were making additional checks and these are taking 10 weeks. I've called back about something else and this wasn't mentioned so I guess they don't all tell you. I'm at almost 6 weeks and not a peep

just coming up to 8 weeks so looks like mine is taking 10weeks as he told me hey had until 4th july. wouldve thought i would have some sort of letter tho by now if i was getting checks. will my payments stop on the 4th july?

The 4th July is another 4 weeks meaning 12 weeks altogether. I've not had a letter either. I think your money will only stop if you don't engage with a check and since we have not had a letter how can we. I'm glad I'm not alone though I was beginning to wonder

Last year I was told 8 weeks. I rang after 3-4 to be told to expect a letter and that came within few weeks.

It was a childcare check all in all it took about 10 weeks.

I called after 5 weeks and was told checking your claim but did not mention a letter. I had an enquiry in 2012 and got a letter straight away. It's strange it takes 6-8 weeks to send a letter

very strange flump75. would be nice to know whats going on soon!! georguasdragon do u think i am being checked then for childcare?

In my opinion claims get checked at random.

If then there are discrepancies that's when the letter gets sent.

They said in my letter that if i didn't send invoices aNd receipts they would ammend my claim to what they believe.

So i assumed they'd already checked and that's why the wrote.

But I'm only guessing.

They could me data matching paye childcare etc.

Try not to worry but do keep chasing them

I always get renewal April and not had yet. It's so frustrating to think that it still might not come till end of June whih means if I get checked again it could be September before my renewal processed.
As I didn't get a final awArd till 10-11
Weeks after I renewed last yr

I expect a letter as my circumstances are complicated. I will post details in my own thread. I have been checked 2 in 3 years so far and it is understandable but not any less stressful even if you know you have been completely honest. Hopefully we will hear soon 31goingon19 x
