We haven't had our renewal pack yet, but had a random small child tax credit payment of £21 on the 6th in bank. usual payment not till 13th. anyone else had odd payments?0

I called today to update about my son staying in college etc.
I asked about my payment schedule because we had a new baby a couple of weeks ago and was told there is no payment schedule on the system
He came to the conclusion that the system is generating a new payment schedule because I renewed Thursday. If that is the case it's a fast turnaround if it isn't we are in a bit of bother lol.
The man had worked there ten years and insisted you can't renew online and after me insisting I did (four times) he went to ask a supervisor and came back and apologised :rotfl:0 -

This happens when your renewal pack is sent and your payments recalculated because they have your earning figures from your employer via the RTI system.0 -
I renewed my tax credits and was all sorted within 2 weeks which was fab ! But I noticed when I received my letter back showing my award that my income for last year was wrong they had forgot to reduce it by £1300 due to 13 weeks smp in that tax year. They had my income as £20955 and should of been £19655 I called them last Friday and they have amended it and said i would receive my new award through shortly as its only £1300 is it going to make much of a difference to my payments and will I be owed anything ?0

Hi all, just a quick question about renewals.
Today I renewed working tax credits over the phone. I was self employed 2013/2014 but made no sales during this period (new business). I recently started a part time job to bring some extra money in and wondered if I have been over paid or underpaid tax credits. My estimated income was £5,900 from self employment but I haven't made a penny so far.0 -

When did you start the new job? 2013/14 or 2014/15?
How many hours are you working in total between both jobs and how many were you doing before?
Working tax and child tax credits. 2013/2014 32 hrs self employed. Started paye 12th may 2014 working 20 hrs and continuing self employment 16 hrs0 -

You will need to call and advice them of the change as soon as you can, you should let them know of changes within 1 month.
The difference in tax credits will depend on the difference between your income for 2013/14 and 2014/15.
Thank you, there is no difference in income only new part time job at £4000 2014/2015 tax year and estimated £5,900 for 2013/2014 tax year which I didn't earn0 -
blondebubbles wrote: »It would depend on the other circumstances of your claim. Tax credits don't just look at one years worth of income, but the previous and current years. So for example your claim for 2014/15 would be calculated depending on what you did earn in 2013/14 and what you expect to earn in 2014/15.
If you know the figures for 2012/13 and expected 2014/15 this would help.
2012/2013 income was £28600 expected income for 2014/2015 is £10000 as on maternity until December0 -

That seems quite low for 20 hours work? Wouldn't it be nearer £6000 (if on NMW). Do you still expect no profit from your self employment for the next year?
Just calculated again, yes just over £5,500.
I hope to make a profit in 2014/2015 and have put another estimate of £5,900 on my renewal, not sure if that will affect the new tax credits as it is again just an estimate. Starting new business is hard work0
