Can anyone help me. My brain is totally fried and I have wasted a stupid amount of hours trying to work this out now.

We are a married couple with 2 young children and for the past year we have been receiving tax credits as our 2012/2013 income was £28,145. (mainly due to me being on maternity leave)

However our joint income for 2013/2014 has increased to £33,213.
I'm assuming that this means we will no receive nothing.

We are in a DMP and I am now concerned that we are going to owe HMRC a lot of money as our income has increased more than we had anticipated.

I've never been in this situation before and have no idea how it works. I've just sent my form back to them with the updated income info. Will they send me a letter stating how much I owe with a date to pay by?

    Thank you in advance.
The first £5k in-year increase is disregarded so you should only have a very small overpayment from last year as your income only went up slightly over £5k.

But you probably won't get anything this tax year and anything you've been paid this tax year from April you'll likely have to pay back.

    Hi

Desperately looking for help. I have been on sick for two years now and not receiving any sick pay from my employer.

I have a medical insurance policy with my pension that I pay for that pays me a monthly amount due to me not been able to return to work. This will pay this until I retire then pension will start. Does this class as income for tax credits?? I was told no when I first applied but now on my renewal they have included it.

    Thanks

At what point should I be worried that I still haven't received my renewal pack!

Don't want to chase them if others still haven't received them.

Wish they would get on with it. Deep sigh.

Feel the same as yourself. I rang yesterday and they said mine was sent out on tuesday 27th May. Said they go in batches to certain areas aswell. Hopefully by the end of the week should have ours.

You have until the end of July to renew. That is two months away. if you have not got your renewal pack by the beginning of July call them.

For a system with millions of claimants who have to renew it has to be a gradual process. It is to be expected. The dates you get your pack vary year to year. So stop being "annoyed" and live your life instead.

I have yet to receive mine. I thought maybe they might just be renewing automatically without the need to do the packs.

    No
    Nothing yet :(
I will give it until three weeks and then call them to get another one issued.

If the award notice is correct you don't need to do anything as it will have already been renewed by the new rti system.

It's the real time system that the tax credits uses to get your p60 figures directly from your employer so you need not do anything. But if the figures on your notice are wrong you will need to ring. If you look on the thread previously blonde bubbles explains it a bit better.
