  • The sums of money are probably right. Its just it doesn't show any of the way they've worked the final figure out. Unlike last year. This years just tells me how much I'm getting. Its just a bit of a shock having a decrease of just over £300 a year.

Hi Blondebubbles. I looked at last years reward which has the same hours. As I always do 30hours and there was a 30hour element included last year. This year there isn't and my award has gone down quite a bit. I'm assuming its right as my circumstances haven't changed and its because I earn over the income threshold. I earnt £12,123 this year. Last year I earned £11,297 and was awarded £716 and this year £12,123 and I'm awarded £406
Those numbers look right if you're single, no kids, no disabilities. So it's probably just the way they word the award. If you didn't work 30 hours, you wouldn't get tax credits at all. Have they combined the basic and 30h element? What elements are listed and what are the values?

Yes I received it last week. They haven't listed much other than what I'm entitled to and the amounts I'll receive every month no workings out at all. Like zagfles said its probably right. I just didn't expect a drop of £300 that's a lot

I'm new to Tax Credits (well, September 2013) so please be gentle...

I get Tax Credits and the Disability Element.

I started claiming in September, so when will I get a renewal form?

What about my Tax Credit Exemption Certificate for medication etc? It says mine runs out at the end of June 2014 - is this automatically renewed or must I telephone someone?

    Thanks for any advice.

I called the helpline today to query why my renewal pack hadn't been received.

I am in receipt of the maximum amount of CTC, so according to post 1 I should have received it by 24th May.

I was told that the table listing dates is no longer published on hmrc's website and even if it was the dates are "for guidance purposes only" and I just have to wait for the pack to arrive.

I have a large potential payment sitting there, so am keen to update my 2013/14 details as soon as possible. I assume I just have to wait patiently?

Page 2 of your 2014/15 award should show the number of hours they have for you. Page 3 should so the working tax credit elements
Everything's there.. Except the breakdown of how they worked out the amount I'm entitled to ie the full tax credit amount less 30hour element then the total. All ive got is the total and amounts due to me and the dates of when they should be in my bank account.

Yes they seem to have removed the table - it was there a few weeks ago! Perhaps they're running late this year?

For info the figures you quoted are spot on for basic & 30h elements with £12123 income in 2013/14.

    Basic element 1941.80
    30h element 803
    reduction due to income (12123-6420)*0.41 = 2338.23
    Total 406.57
  • Hi, Thanks Zagfles. I didnt know where to look to find the figures they used. At least I know its right now. Just wonder why this wasnt shown on my renewal. Quite a drop in payments for this year then. I dont hold out much hope of when the UC rolls in for me. Probably wont be entitled to anything...Best i start getting used to not having anything. So hard when youve got a mortgage flat charges and bills when single.

Hi, Blondebubbles. It was the Annual Review. And looking back on last years papers that I have here the breakdown was on the Reward Form. So I expect I'll get the breakdown on this years payments on the Reward Form in July sometime.
