Tax Credits Renewals - 2014

Havent had our renewal form yet, but its normally out well before now. Is there still the time limit as to have the form returned by? And I realise that the ct credit is getting replaced with universal credit, but does anyone know when it will be rolled out into Scotland? Hopefully it will be a easier system to do, but quotes seem to be very different on the benefits checker on here for ct credit , anyone else had that??
The renewal still has to be completed by 31st July.
I wouldn't worry about Universal Credit yet.Its not due to be fully rolled out for another three years.0 -

This is not a disregard as such but to stop people underestimating their income. The £2000 is then removed on renewal next year and the correct amount paid.
My Aunt works for tax credits and was telling me about this yesterday. In many cases the system is also updating change of circumstances instantly and new payment schedules are on the system instantly.I don't think that applies for renewals just change of circumstances like new estimate income etc.
I don't think that is correct. The £2500 disregard applies to estimates anyway - so they ignore the first 2500 of the fall, which has the same effect.
Are you suggesting they add another 2000 on? On top of the 2500?
If your income last year was 20,000, and this year you estimate it will be 18,000 they will use 20,000 - that is just how the rules work.
Same if you estimate 15,000, they will use 17,500. They already add the 2,500 on. I think probably someone is getting the figures confused - it is 2,500 they add on not 2,000.

Sorry to sound dumb, but does that mean then as long as your within the £2500 they add on to you salary you should more or less stay the same?0 -

It is 2,500 for falls in income and 5,000 for rises in income before it will impact on your award. The disregards only apply when comparing previous year income to current year income.

Morning,
Has anyone's renewal gone through?
I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it's currently taking?
Kind regards0 -

I wasn't expecting my pack yet, as it said nil awards would be later next month and since Jan I've not been eligible for TCs as DD now goes to school nursery, so I only have a bit of childcare to pay out.
But, it arrived today, they had the changes in childcare costs detailed by date (correctly, hurrah!) and I can renew online if I choose! So I've just done it now - nothing has changed for me so just confirmed my income and expenses, and hopefully that will wrap me up for good!
It's odd that I have received an overpayment notice (£71) a couple of weeks ago before they took my final income, as surely they would want to finalise before calculating the exact overpayment amount?
I'm expecting a nil award again - does anyone know if that just takes me off the books, so to speak? Or do I get another renewal next year too?
Thanks to all you experts who frequent these threads, I've had lots of help in the last few years to understand what happens with TCs through maternity leave, illness then death of my husband and subsequently going back to work with two kiddies in private nursery (lord that was expensive!). MSE has kept me sane through all the TC processes. thanks!Bossymoo
