Tax Credits Renewals - 2014

I've decided I really hate Ctc!! My payments have dropped my 360 a month, through overpayments , partly my fault for not updating them I suppose, but actually did not know how much husband work overtime
overpayment of 1300
Phone them up as had no letter just a drop in money, would of been nice to of been told first..
They are taking 15.90 per wk,
back for 18 months
I've estimated a new income but if you don't already know that if it drops from the rti figure they get from your employers. Then £2000 is added to it , new rules this year !
So my claim is 2000 more than I wanted.
Hope that make sense!
Why they adding extra 2000?0 -
I also hate Tax Credits! They gave me an extra payement last week yet said i have been overpaid by just over £1000.... I would love to know how they get their figures!0

Why they adding extra 2000?
New government rules that have came in this year. I don't really understand why , I'm sure it's so people can't get there self in to debt again maybe
I quote xx amount and he explained as my estimates are less than my amount last year , this happens.
I never got forms this year, my was done through the rti system.
The man I spoke to on the phone was so helpful , about everything, even told me the new payments amount after it was amended, that's never happen before, hope I get him on the phone again, if ever I have to ring again lol, usually I get a grumpy , can't wait to get of the phone women lol0 -

I haven't heard anything about this. Do you have any links?
This is not a disregard as such but to stop people underestimating their income. The £2000 is then removed on renewal next year and the correct amount paid.
My Aunt works for tax credits and was telling me about this yesterday. In many cases the system is also updating change of circumstances instantly and new payment schedules are on the system instantly.I don't think that applies for renewals just change of circumstances like new estimate income etc.0 -

I have seen a couple of people mention it but can't find anything official on it anywhere.0 -
I hadn't received my renewal pack yet so haven't submitted p60 details yet. but I did call about 2wks ago to update my childcare costs.
today we got a letter telling us we'll get nothing next year based on salary figures I don't recognise... which are 4k higher than our p60 figures for 12/13... ? we are enrolled in the workplace pension if this makes a difference.
also they've advised we've been overpaid by £2000, how can this be when I've provided exact figures all along & updated them religiously?0 -
Does the letter state it is for 2012/13 or is it a provisional award for 2013/14. People on here will need to know that as well as P60 gross income details for both years & how many children etc.0

Every year I call up and give them my earnings for the year, from my P60. I got my renewal letter yesterday and it said they'd already got my earnings from my employer and it, obviously, matched my P60 - so no call was necessary.
I like the new way.0 -
Havent had our renewal form yet, but its normally out well before now. Is there still the time limit as to have the form returned by? And I realise that the ct credit is getting replaced with universal credit, but does anyone know when it will be rolled out into Scotland? Hopefully it will be a easier system to do, but quotes seem to be very different on the benefits checker on here for ct credit , anyone else had that??0
