Put ours on for the first time this week, just for half an hour when the kids go to bed (with a hot water bottle). Not terribly cold here in Leicester yet, but we are on one of those rotten key meters, we are renting until we find something to buy, so probably only for 6 months and it is not worth the hassle of having it changed to a regular meter, btw the landlord is a muppet. After owning our home for 10 years, I can't say I ever missed private renting, but new job in unknown location, so sold up and renting until we know where to avoid buying a house!

  • Thanks, glad I'm not being overly tight. It has actually warmed up quite a bit this evening, so perhaps next door has cracked first ;).

Its not quite payday yet, but I made a cheeky OP of £100.

  • No heating here just yet!! Oh my goodness, I'm feeling proud I'm with the sensible crowd this year! I've not needed it yet, but when I do (or lodgers), then I will!

    Well done on the OP!

I've almost finished my mortgage move, decreasing payments from £580 to £450 a month. :D

    Hiya MC

My heating has been on for a couple of weeks now...but it's only on low for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours at night....I tortured myself over it for a while but then decided I'm not going to feel cold in my own house :D

    Have a lovely weekend

    BW :)
  • Hi BW

I suppose one advantage of living alone is that you can avoid those disputes over the thermostat.

  • Monthly update time again. :j

Things seem to be progressing quite quickly at the moment, as have been doing quite a lot of extra hours. I received some small work expenses back that I had forgotten about, plus got a dividend from one of my shares, and added that to the pennies I had left come payday and have OP'd it using the magic button.

I am beginning to really enjoy having an "overpayment allowance"
