  • Aww...thanks for the update lilty. I will have a look on the washing machine. I've been impressed with the 50 minute 'quick cycle' which washes most things well (unless they're very stained) but never thought about an extra spin. Great thinking.

Glad to hear that your visit to the folks went well, but sorry to hear about your mum. Poor her and poor you. Must be very worrying, but if she's anything like her daughter then she's a determined and resourceful person who will fight off these illnesses and get her treatment in no time. Sending lots of love. Let me know if I can do anything.

Can't believe that you've done all your Christmas shopping. Well actually I can, because I know how organised you are, lol. The Gib tradition of Christmas Eve shopping will probably occur again here.....I've already asked for the day off work just in case ;)

Thanks for the lovely comments SS - really hope you're doing well too? I'm off to stalk your diary now x

  • Stalk away Giblet. Nothing much happening. Have reached that limbo point. Work is worky, my course is now getting serious. I'm getting a little tired from applying for jobs and need a little break - got 2 apps in at moment and another to complete tomorrow.

I've also put a few pounds on so feeling a bit sluggish and my clothes tight. I'm going to up my exercise and try to get my energy back up. I know what to do but feeling tired at moment. I think I need to get my energy book out and do more reading.

Hope all going well with you. It all takes some adjusting and sometimes we just have to be patient I guess.

    Hugs xx

  • Thanks SS - it seemed loads when I was reading your diary! Sorry to hear that you're feeling so tired. Applying is exhausting. How are you sleeping at the moment; any better? I hope so.

I think it is a time of change atm. Adjusting to the change in the weather, heading up to a (potentially) expensive time of the year etc. Plus we still don't know where we stand with both DH wages and mine reducing this month (although he's got the extra day).

I will just have to keep myself inspired by you lovely people, and try not to let other things get in the way of keeping in contact.

    Sending lots of love x

  • *snorts* Oh I am a Christmas Eve Eve shopper usually. 23rd December is my day to blitz it all. :rotfl: But this year with having to go up to Mums, I had to get all my families presents done and dusted before I went, so I just did the rest with it. I got some good bargains too so that helped. I also chivvied my sister along as she is so slow (reminds me, she hasn't paid me!) and bought Jellys present from her while I had a £6 off voucher for the actual thing I wanted her to get. Win all around.

SuperSaver that is the closest to a 'down' post I have seen from you. Sending you mass huggles (and you Gib!) - keep your chin up. Apply for these jobs and then set yourself a Christmas break ok! You have too much going on to be working on all this stuff. xx

  • Sorry Huns didn't mean to be down. I just suddenly feel so tired. Can't seem to catch a break and I'm waking up tired. The dilly thing is that I know it's coming. This weekend I am going to snuggle up with my uni reading and spend an afternoon in front of the fire catching up and relaxing, cup of coffee, nice nibbles. :rotfl:

Must make a note to look after self bit more to avoid burn out. :rotfl:

Liltys right, chin up, keep going. I'm still adjusting to reduced wages too, which is a worry, but I am amazed how much it's possible to cut back. Once I'm back up to full salary I will not be so wasteful ever again. Clouds and silver lining definitely come to mind.

Anyway wishing you both a very silver lining and a gold exterior. Have a lively day and thank you for cheering me up and inspiring me. 😄😄

There's a phrase about always looking/acting as if you know what you're doing. I need to adopt that (not here but in RL) :)

Have a great day :). Sorry meant to say lovely day, but hey, lively could be good too :rotfl:

  • Afternoon all!

Currently engaged in a frantic painting session to try and get the walls finished to put the radiators back on in advance of the heating engineers coming out on Tuesday. With no heating, drying the plaster (and then paint) is a challenge :) Anything to just pay one 'call out charge' lol. MSEing all the way.

Hope everyone is having a good day. More laters xxx
