Thanks guys - really kind and wise words. You are all awesome!
Well dad is now home, but needs to have lots more investigations. Rest, rest and more rest is the plan.
MSEing is a bit of a disaster tbh. Lots of brews and convenience foods purchased; top up shops due to time constraints (and general exhaustion) but at the end of the day, I'm lucky enough to have a bit saved for emergencies, and am hoping that now things are calming down again (fingers crossed) that I can refocus.
My list of things that need doing urgently;
Food plan (trying to go gluten free / lactose free to see if it helps). Big shop to facilitate this!
Finish painting the living room
Get some building work finished in the dining room (must be done before any more can be done in there)
Tax return (yes I know....) but this involves sorting through to find the paperwork that was 'lost' in the emergency move
There is loads more, including tons of work, but I'm pacing myself...
Hope everyone else is doing well. Must dash off to work now - already late, lol xDebt remaining:
Mortgage - £117,759 (£134,600, Nov 2013)
Work overpayment and home improvement loan paid back (£19200)

Gib as long as you are not being silly, just put the MSE stuff to the side for now. Do what needs done and you can get back on track when things even out.
Just one thing though: GET THE TAX RETURN DONE. Find the paperwork and do it. You know it's important. You don't want to be rushing at the last minute and end up with a fine. Rushing and a fine are stressful.

Phew! Good news on dad
As GAP says, put the MSE/diet etc to the side. Time constraints, exhaustion and worry all put paid to that side of your brain when things like this happen. Keep plodding, keep a good track of your spending, and think about a fresh start in the New Year. Nice to make a clean even start..
Hugs!!
P.S GAP I brought cakes to my office today because we have had a bad week. It was such a cheery happy good mood bringer

I wish I had a car. I would dot around the country doing tax returns for people. I love those things
I do our company reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority. My calculations could shut us down :rotfl: nothing like a bit of pressure to focus the mind.
Tell you what Gib, box up all your receipts and I will do itmeanwhile you eat cake
