  • .....sneaks back in quietly.....

Hello all - I'm so sorry that I've been AWOL. Lots of reasons, but no excuses. I'm a bad giblet.

I really hope everyone is doing well? I've thought about you often, but just felt too overwhelmed to sign in.

You may be pleased to know that I haven't strayed too far from the MSE journey, but have been quite poorly, and trying to get my health in order.

I have paid off the window 0% loan before it expired (£4000) and got another job (yes...I know, it's stupid but will pay for a little holiday that we desperately need).

I've started the threatened detox and am nearly 20lbs lighter since 1st Jan :)

Nothing else has been done to the house, but plans are afoot, lol. Aren't they always???

How is everyone else doing? Well I hope. Looking forward to catching up, and hope you are still talking to me despite my flakeyness as a regular poster (is that even a word?)

    Lots of love Gib x

My definition of flaky - NOT paying off your windows and putting on the 20lbs. So not flaky just awol! Which from a lurker is rich really isn't it?
  • Sorry to hear you've been poorly Gib. What great progress though. Well done.

Hi Gib, fab to see you back. Wow to the 20lbs - well done and for paying off the windows too :). Sorry to hear you've not been well, hope you feel better soon x

So so lovely to hear from you!! Missed you, thought of you often. Sorry to hear you have been poorly :( I hope you are feeling better now... 20lbs is AMAZING!!! Whats the secret?! I need to lose that, preferably in the next 4 weeks before my super svelte friend comes down to stay less than 2 months after giving birth and makes me feel like an elephant. :rotfl:

So pleased you paid off the windows. Worried about this extra job though. Do you ever sleep?

Come back when you can :) big hugs!!! xxx

  • Hi Guys - thanks so much for your lovely replies.

Pattanne - I'm honoured that you came out of lurkedom to comment; your message made me smile. I guess AWOL does sound nicer than flaky!

Thanks fortune and misst for the good health wishes - I'm definitely getting better. Just need to stick to this regime now!

Lilt - missed you too! The secret to the diet is meat, fish, veg (no potatoes or peas/corn) and some fruit in moderation. Lots of eggs, green veggies etc so omelets and salads for break / lunch and some kind of meat / fish and a plate full of veggies for tea.

I'm finding roasted kale my favourite atm....YUM. Garlic and sesame seeds...I'm obsessed.

With regards to the other job, it's just sessional and a really interesting project, but it is starting to feel a bit of a squeeze I admit. I'm not getting a day off atm - I should be working now tbh but decided to spend my quick break with you all :)

In MSE news - very happy to report that I am due a refund from both the Student Loan's company, and the Inland Revenue (in fact I've already received the latter). In combination with the aforementioned new job, we WILL have a (carefully planned and budgeted) holiday this year. We may even have a couple of nights away as well.

    Happy days :)

Right I'd better get back to the grindstone. Still haven't managed to catch up with anyone else yet, but I'm thinking of you all, and sending all the hugs and love needed.

    Gib xx
