Thanks for your well wishes, I'm feeling much better
I woke up yesterday morning and immediately knew I felt normal again, but I am really tired now. I might have overdone it yesterday by going to yoga and walking the dog for 1.8 miles in the evening though
In other news - dog has the all clear from the vet :T :j :T
In money news - why are payslips so impossible to understand? I was expecting a small increase because of the tax allowance and a decrease due to the () increase in pension contributions that start this month. Overall I think I'm about £7 better off, but it is so confusing this month that I'm not sure
Anyway, money transfers done :j:j:j- £200 into emergency fund. This took a hit last month from the vets bill but looking forward to getting a bit back on the insurance.
- £852 into the holiday fund :j, only £622 to go:beer:
- 40p tilly tidy into baby fund
- £0 into wedding fund
:o

Goodness, I was really worried about doggie so glad I've read the whole diary in one go :T.
Hope you've got your marking done.

No, not yet... it's on the list after wedding and renovation though. I will be 30 next year and have been told by the Dr not to leave it too late, so it is a bit of a priority. I'm aiming to top-up part-time maternity pay to a minimum I could survive on before we even start trying!
Thanks SF, you reminded me that I wanted to write about our new, revised plans for the house. Our 'plans' have changed about a hundred times since we bought the place but I had a mini-meltdown over the weekend. Possibly it was something to do with feeling under the weather but managed to make my OH understand that we don't have the time or money to pay for this holiday, pay for a wedding and completely remodel the house before having a baby. So we started with the minimum we want to do before starting a family and worked out a new plan. Not in any order:- Single story extension to move bathroom to position of outside loo aka wood shed.
- Move back door to back of house where the bathroom used to be. Patio doors will lead out onto garden
rather than slimy drain area by outside loo
- Install gas central heating.
- New joists in living room. Essential as they are currently propped up!
- Widen opening between living room and dining room, and between kitchen and dining room to allow more light through. This is a compromise for OH, who wants to remove massive 2ft thick wall from ground to roof
- Fix floor in dining room.
- Plasterboard all walls. Mostly built of granite and mud so damp and cold.
- Even more insulation in flat roof.
- New kitchen with dining area :j
- New double glazing that actually opens, closes, locks, and keeps the cold out - luxury!
Our original plan of extending upstairs, knocking through between living and dining room, moving stairs and gaining a third bedroom can be done in the future if we decide to.
Although it sounds like a lot of work, OH does this kind of thing all of the time. We will have to spend on a new bathroom and central heating, but new kitchen and new double glazing can wait until we save a bit more money. Most of the work is pretty cheap in terms of materials.
It really helps to put your thoughts down on virtual paper! I've just been reading the weekly e-mail bit about the new mortgage rules which sounds a bit  The thought of someone going through my banks statements for 4 current accounts is a bit worrying. How will I explain my money shuffles and Tilly tidies? :rotfl:"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Thanks GG! Very pleased about dog - she's oblivious to it all of course
It took me months to read your diary
You and Tilly have made me determined to buy a house abroad one day...

Oh fab news about your dog! It's so worrying these 'we have to send off to make sure' type things aren't they. So glad she's ok.
Sounds like you have a good plan there about the house and all sensible stuff too. It's so much easier when OHs actually listen isn't it?
And I cannot agree with you more about saving for baby before it arrives. I was able to pay myself a 'salary' equal to 70% of my regular salary while I was on maternity and that saved me so much stress.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Hi Mouche! I ended up having a 'discussion' with OH late last night because he keeps saying we need to do more on the house. He is so optimistic, he truly can't see that we don't have the time or money and that everything we do takes longer and costs more than we think:mad::eek:
Rant over
Well, I am shattered! I accidentally stayed up late last night looking at lurcher rescue centres online last night , I ended up getting drenched twice this morning, I'm getting a stonking cold, and I had to go to a meeting this afternoon in someone else's place. I felt totally inexperienced and like a right scruff-bag compared to everyone else there
I also have a huge amount of work to do by Tuesday and really don't want to do it over the weekend, but I'm so tired right now my eyelids are trying to close!- NSD
- H@lifax money transfers done
- 61p TT to baby fund
I can't decide whether to go and have a short nap, then start some work, or start some work and try to get an early night.
