Glad your back is feeling better Janey - I had my first Pilates class on Saturday and boy was I aching all weekend. Shows how unfit I am. Can I be nosy and ask what your back trouble is exactly. I seem to remember your mentioning an accident? Or am I getting confused?

Sorry to hear you're still feeling rubbish - at least you have an OH to cheer you up.

Thanks Tilly, I'm still feeling grotty unfortunately but trying to just get on with things!
I tend to split my payments across the month, moving 1/30 of savings between spreadsheet columns etc. once a day. It keeps me involved, makes me feel like I'm always working towards the goal and helps entertain me as I'm a fidget! :o

Have you looked at Green Deal financing for any of your home improvements? Granted, it won't subsidise terraces etc., but it sounds like you might be in need of some energy efficient windows and insulation?

Hi Edinburgher, I do move amounts between columns sometimes but not too often because in the past I have got in a bit of a muddle!

Annoyingly our house is a terrace with badly built extensions and we don't seem to qualify for any of the help. Some walls are granite, some block and part of the roof is flat so we never seen to fit in the right category! But as OH is a builder it is relatively cheep to insulate etc.

Hi Mouche! I have a very slight scoliosis which developed in my teens. You would never notice it but it causes a lot of pain! Was your pilates class recommended by your physio? The class I go to is a lot more gentle than a previous class I attended but it is tailored to my needs. I have to drive for 20 minutes to get there but it is worth it! I've really noticed a difference over the last few weeks:j

So, as I mentioned above, I'm still feeling rubbish. This cold just won't go but I'm just trying to get on with things. I've been sleeping OK but probably need to sleep more.

Today has been a NSD and I've transferred the H@lifax reward £5 plus a 62p Tilly tidy into my ISA aka baby fund.

I've calculated that we should have enough in the joint account at the end of the month to bring the holiday fund to 75% but you know what usually happens when we make plans

I'm going to quickly catch up on some diaries then the plan is marking, shower, sleep!

Hi Janey, just had a quick catch up ...

:) So glad your pooch is ok now and completely understand how you feel, I don't treat mine like fur-babies in that whole nauseating dressy uppy poochy woochy way, but they are part of the family and I know they care about us, so it's only right to show them love and concern too! Glad it all came good.

:o Totally understand about the late night relating to dog rescue sites, my own guilty pleasure in the Poodles In Need site, am definitely after rescuing a poodly pup! And yes, this is a covert, after dark activity whilst OH snores softly (actually more like a rhino) beside me.

:p. The dress! Has it arrived yet? More info needed pls!

:( So sorry you're still feeling so under the weather, schools are not good for your health if your immune system's a bit compromised in any way. Do look after yourself ... hope the rest of the week is easier on you x

Hi Hbbb :hello: Dress has arrived and I think I love it! It is long, lace and has sleeves to the elbow. I'm not a very dress-wearing person, I've never even worn a long dress, but now I'm looking at beading and ivory coloured shoes! It would need taking in a bit though and I need to humour Mum by going to a bridal shop

Today has been a NSD and I also received a cheque for over £80 from the pet insurance which will go a bit of the way to topping up our emergency fund.

Still feeling rubbish and already dreading next week at work!

    :j:j TFI Friday :j:j

Managed to get home at a reasonable time today and all marking finished at school :j

I'm pretty worried about next week - my class have tests  - but I'm as prepared as I can be and so are they (I hope :()

N@tionwide card and codes arrived today and I've signed up to internet banking. I then had a panic about whether I would be able to apply for the credit card for fee free spending abroad in time for our holiday, as you have to pay in £750 a month for 3 months first. This was not helped by the fact that all their products have similar names and I just got completely confused (again)

In the end I went for the C@pital one card and have already been approved. I just hope they give me a decent credit limit!

One thing I feel a bit funny about is the number of accounts and cards I have!

    I have:
    • An H5BC account - from my student days - need to close
    • FD current account - my main account
    • 123 account - a 'joint account' in my name only :rotfl:
    • Hal1fax - for the £5 reward
    • N@tionwide - new account which I plan to use as another savings account for the 5% year
    • T£sco clubcard credit card - 0% for a few more months -
    • S@ntander cashback credit card - used for all food shopping and petrol
    • New Cap1tal 1 card (hopefully)
    • T£sco ISA - my personal (baby) savings
    • FD regular saver - some of the renovation savings
    • Old savings account with the Spanish bank - need to close

I suppose they are all have a purpose except the two I need to close, but it still seems a lot! I have so many cards

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend with some wedding planning. Can those two things go in the same sentence?

When you look on the banking board, some of them have about 20 current accounts:eek:

I think your total is quite modest in comparison!:rotfl:

    Thanks Goldie and Alchemilla :)

Despite sleeping for 8 and a half hours last night, I'm feeling really tired today. I might have just had a nap :o

This morning I moved £157 from the 'budget' column to the 'holiday' column in our joint account. This is what I calculate should be the minimum left over at the end of the month. If we run out I can move some back :p This brings the total to 88% with just £464 to add at the end of the month :j

I'm going to catch up on a few diaries while I try to scrape together enough energy to do some real life jobs :rotfl:

Your bank accounts sound entirely normal - we've got 8 current accounts, 2 credit cards and a random savings account between us :)

Thanks edinburgher, it gets a bit overwhelming at times!

I think it's possible I could be trying to too many things at once!
    1. Working 50+ hours a week
    2. Starting/planning renovation - architect quotes, getting gas installed etc etc
    3. Still sorting stuff for holiday
    4. Planning a wedding
    5. Looking into adopting another waggy-tailed pooch :D

Still feeling crap too which doesn't help. Google has suggested a low-level sinus infection so will book a Dr appointment at the end of the week if it doesn't clear off before then. I'm really not feeling myself which is making me fed-up and grumpy :(

We had quite a good weekend though. We saw some friends on Sat, then I had to have a nap before watching eurovision  in the evening. Yesterday we walked the dog, spent a bit of time at a 'fun' dog show and went to scope out a possible wedding venue before having another nap!

Today has been a NSD and I found 5p on the floor by the car :j

Not sure what the weather is doing, it's sunny at the moment but the wind is really cold! Some warmth would make all the difference
