Janey's Journey to Becoming a MFW

Hi Mouche! I have a very slight scoliosis which developed in my teens. You would never notice it but it causes a lot of pain! Was your pilates class recommended by your physio? The class I go to is a lot more gentle than a previous class I attended but it is tailored to my needs. I have to drive for 20 minutes to get there but it is worth it! I've really noticed a difference over the last few weeks:j
Am glad to hear your class is suiting you Janey. It's so important to find one you like and which helps you. Back pain can be so love-of-life-limiting can't it? And certainly with baby plans you need to make sure your back is as strong as possible in advance - not doing so was the biggest mistake I made.
I hate exercise and am very bad at following along to aerobics type classes so I am pleased that I have found one that seems to suit my level and where the instructor is very clear and consistent with her instructions. My osteopath has told me to stay at the very basic level for the first few weeks and I find that doing so means I can actually get through the class. I've only been for 2 weeks and am already feeling - not fitter exactly, but better.
I'm sorry to hear you still aren't feeling better. I went through a few weeks of general unwellness recently and the doctors did nothing to help me. It seems to have passed by itself now and I hope yours too will pass quickly.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

I'm not surprised that you're feeling poorly if you're working 50+ hour weeks, I barely manage 35!
I suspect that I would gladly work 12 hours days if I was doing something I love. When I'm busy with hobbies/side projects, I can lose track of time just the thing0 -
:hello: Thanks for your messages!
I am starting to feel better, still tired but not so exhausted all the time :j A bit of sunshine and four days invigilating exams and therefore no marking have helped a lot!
We've also decided to go for an Easter wedding which takes the pressure off a bit - I really don't want to do it in term time!
In money news, I've got my N@tionwide internet banking working and now need to upgrade to the account I originally intended to open :rotfl: Also c@pital 1 pin number arrived...just waiting for the card!
Quick question - I've already paid a bit into my ISA for this tax year but want to open a different one. If I close the one I've got can I open a new one? It's only got a few hundred in it so not worried about withdrawing it. I try so hard to understand ISAs but something always crops up that I can't work out
In annoying money news - I've had to buy new windscreen wipers and 'treated' myself to some from H@lfords for £30 - would have looked for a cheaper alternative but had some that scratched my windscreen in the past  Also, today my laptop is telling me that it needs a new battery. It has been lasting for less and less time recently and I tried a few things recommended to reset it but it's had it. New one ordered for £40 - cheapest genuine battery I could find
We had a lovely stroll and ate chips on the beach in the sun this evening - luxury! I hope everyone else is enjoying the sunny weather :T
Will catch up on diaries at the weekend,

Great news on the dress Janey, totally understand about doing the whole bridal shop thing with your mum though! At least the pressure's off a bit if you're now heading towards Easter, but still less than a year to go ... :j how are these venues shaping up that you're looking at, got a short list yet?
Equally important, got a short list on rescue pooches yet too?
Glad you're a bit less tired, not long until half term now! I hope you have a restful weekend. XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hi Hbbb
We have a rough list of who to invite and a very short list of venues which look affordable! Next job is to ring the registry office
What a week of glorious weather - I have sat in the garden most evenings :j
My new N@tionwide account is up and running, I got into the online banking yesterday and was able to upgrade to a Fl£xDirect account which is what I wanted to open in the first place! £2500 of our renovation savings are now safely stashed away in there at 5%.
I have also withdrawn my savings from my ISA (1.75%) and added them to a new column in the 123 spreadsheet at 3%. I'm not bothered about the tax because I plan to spend them in the near-ish future.
I'm really behind with diaries at the moment and will try to catch up over the weekend

What amazing weather! I hope everyone else has had some too! We spent the day on the beach yesterday and it was lovely and quiet - no tourists yet
I am now sporting one sunburnt cheek where I apparently forgot to apply suncream. I just read that back and feel I should clarify that I am talking about my face!
In the evening we walked the dog to the beach nearest our house and stopped for a drink in the pub garden on the way home. Today we went for a walk and explored an area a few miles away where we have decided we would love to live one day. We came across a new pub and had a lovely small lunch on the garden. They were people and dog friendly, and the food was reasonable and yummy so we will definitely be going back.
In money news I have decided to return the wedding dress after trying it on with mum. Although it is lovely, I want to try a range before I decide.
This weekend has been a bit spendy with beach car parking, drinks and a pub lunch but we budget for treats and parking so not bad!
C@pital 1 card arrived and I have been given the highest available limit which is enough to cover our holiday spending budget and any emergencies :j Just need to set up a direct debit.
I've caught up on a few diaries but a few more to go.
Only 4 days at work + an INSET day before half term :j I really need a rest as this term has been highly stressful

Hope it turns out to be an easy one Janey, although some INSET days ...
Glad you clarified about the cheek ... I was quite alarmed! XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Sounds like you've had a lovely weekend.
It's nice to be able to get out and enjoy the weather. Let's hope it lasts for your half term.Early retired - 18th December 2014

It's Friday :dance::j:dance::j
Spreadsheets updated and the surplus £20 from our joint account has been moved into the 'Holiday' column. Also, £40 transferred from 'emergency' for laptop battery (not really an emergency but I'd be over budget if I took the money from anywhere else!).
I have been very brave and sent an e-mail inquiring about a ceremony to the registration service (you can only leave a message or e-mail ), e-mailed another possible venue and made an appointment to visit another tomorrow. I don't know why I'm finding this all so scary
I'm trying to take a leaf out of Mouche's diary and try to get a few small things done each day, instead of being overwhelmed by a massive list. So this week:
Monday - [STRIKE]one load of washing[/STRIKE]
Tuesday - [STRIKE]another load of washing[/STRIKE]
Wednesday - [STRIKE]Shopping order for Mr T (I hate doing this)[/STRIKE]
Thursday - [STRIKE]Clean dining room[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]one load of washing[/STRIKE]
Friday - [STRIKE]Update budgets[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Book a Dr appointment[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Ring 2 wedding venues[/STRIKE]
- Do a bit of filing
Saturday - Collect items from PO
- attend pilates
- appointment at venue
Sunday - Sort out clothes for charity/bin/stashing away until next year
I'm going to pick a day next week to attack my to do list and then do nothing on the other days. Unfortunately I have a mountain of school work to do, but I want to try to limit this to one day as well. Otherwise I find half term is just one long to do list and I go back to work feeling tired and frustrated. This time I am booking in some rest time!
