It's been a busy couple of days. I was feeling quite under the weather yesterday and a bit sorry for myself after my root canal filling but it's a bit better today. I spent the day helping DH at our house and it was great to be working on it together again. I mainly did some tidying and cutting insulation to fit between the joists. We also took a couple of car loads to the tip and I found something I've been looking for for ages - a wooden towel rail like this. It was about to be chucked into the skip so I got it for free :j I can't wait to paint it and put it in our new bedroom
Another busy day tomorrow as I'm taking my class on a residential trip on Monday - better get packing!

...and so it continues. My poor dog had his stitches out yesterday but was back in the vets yesterday to have them put back in
Poor boy had opened it up again. That's another £300 gone so I really hope the insurance money gets back to us quickly!

Phew - I am so glad to be back from camping in the rain with 28 kids! It was OK apart from the weather and the fact that I had a migraine on Monday afternoon and had to hide in the tent for 3 hours
The weather has been better today with quite a bit of sun although it's a bit cold and windy.
Poorly dog is still poorlyDespite the new stitches he has managed to scratch the wound and separate some of it. The vet says it will have to heal open and some of the skin may die off  This will take 3-4 weeks and is a high risk of infection. He is now wearing a cone, a childs t-shirt from Tesco and has a sock taped to his one foot to stop him scratching. He also has to go to the vets every few days and take some stronger antibiotics. It is quite a palava to get him dressed and undressed and I need to pick up some more t-shirts for when this one is in the wash
Mostly I just feel like a bad 'mum' and I can't even give him a proper cuddle or take him for a run in the woods.
Money updated, rent paid to mum and I've moved the vet bills to the emergency column because there isn't enough in our general spending column. When the insurance money comes through most of this will be paid off. What else are emergency funds for?

Wow it's been a busy weekend! While DH has been working on wiring, I have insulated our whole kitchen and dining area, including some fiddly cutting out around plug sockets etc. I feel really proud of myself and DH keeps going on about how much time I've saved him
He also said he was surprised I was able to do it and I'm not sure whether to take this as a compliment or not? :rotfl:
On Friday I took the dog back to the vets and while it appears to be healing nicely, he still has antibiotics and is only allowed a 15 minute walk once a dayHow do they expect me to keep a crazy dog quiet if he isn't able to burn off any energy?! He might be able to have the stitches out next Friday but it could be longer

DH has replaced my iPhone battery with an internet kit and a YouTube video after I cooked it in the sunCost £18 altogether as I went for a proper looking website rather than a dodgy flea bay cheapy but it's a big saving on having it done by someone else :T

Today is like for Friday for me as tomorrow is my day off :j Annoyingly, I left a really important piece of paper at work so have to go back in tomorrow to grab it before I can write any more reports. It does mean that I get this evening off though

I voted on my way home - really hope it goes my way. I feel quite anxious about the outcome. This week I have seen two water voles (definitely not rats) and a hedgehog
