Hope that the input of dh and the dogs does the tricks and things look better soon xPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Thank you!
I can't change the situation, it is completely out of my control although we are doing what we can to get the help we need.
I'm trying to maintain a positive outlook and not let it grind me down this year but someone on another thread pointed out that I need to let myself feel sad about it too. So today I stayed at home and have had a good old 'wallow' in it and hopefully tomorrow I can start moving forward. It doesn't help that I have a head cold!
I should have come on here earlier, I feel more positive already.

Thanks SHS. I am very grateful for my job even though it drives me crazy (went on a course this week about the new assessment framework )

Thanks for all your kind words. Today is a new day and I don't write this diary to moan and complain (I can do that enough in real life!).
Despite yesterday's crapness, I managed to: update our budget, tidy our bedroom, fill a charity bag and declutter our toiletries. There wasn't a lot to chuck actually as I have done this recently but it is now all tidy again"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. Good morning
Yesterday was a better day. My main aim this year is not to dwell on the disappointments and remain as optimistic as possible in between. I am trying to avoid google because it can't give me the magic answer and it only makes me feel depressed. I've been *mostly* successful so far
It really doesn't help that I've got an absolute b***h of a cold
Yesterday I did some more decluttering in our bedroom and filed away a load of paperwork that had been piling up. I left a charity bag outside but think I missed them so will try to drop it off at a shop today. I completed the meal plan and booked our Mr T order. I am definitely not working at my usual speed - darn cold! I am rubbish at being ill because I can't relax when there are things to do.
In the evening we went to an 'after-Christmas party' which was great. Good friends, good food and lots of laughter.

Anniversary booked :T Long weekend in the Cotswolds and tickets to see Hamlet at the RSC theatre. Really excited as DH hasn't been before but seems to have a new found love of Shakespeare.
I haven't left the house today and we've cancelled our evening out as we're both too snottyI also appear to have pulled my back coughing. We are getting takeaway to cheer us up and it will still be cheaper than a meal out
I'm a bit annoyed with our finances this month. We spent over £60 on new dog beds because we needed something that would fit in the car for our weekend away next week.
Also, DH has bought himself another guitar. I wouldn't mind if he had paid for it with savings, but he is still paying for the amp he bought before Christmas. Not only that, but he put it on the wrong credit card which gets paid off in full every month, so he now owes our household account £571. I don't begrudge him spending money on music equipment. He has lots of weddings and gigs booked for the year ahead and often sells on old equipment to pay for new. It's just that it messes up my spreadsheets :mad::eek:
OK, rant overHe did help me sort out the Room of Doom :T

We've done well with our 5-a-day.
