That rings a bell from when I was at work - there's always a couple of people who are oblivious to everything!

So it's been a busy first week back at school! It's had it's up and downs but overall I'm feeling generally positive :)

:j Yesterday was my first Friday off work ever ! This definitely helped me to feel more relaxed throughout the week.

    Health
    • I've been in some pain this week and it's still niggling away so I've had to take quite a few painkillers. Yesterday the Dr agreed to refer me to the specialist which is great as I was expecting a bit of a battle. I've mentioned it to two Drs previously and they were a bit dismissive. Yesterday she quickly checked the last letter from the consultant on the NHS system which said to refer straight away so she did :T
    • Food - We've made a huge effort with our eating this week and have managed our 5-a-day most days. I did a 4 week meal plan to avoid repeating meals too often because we were so bored before Christmas.
    • Walking - I didn't get out on Tuesday or Wednesday (because it was pi$$ing down:eek: ) but we have still managed to walk 13.6 miles so far this month :D

    Happiness
I am grateful for this week:
    • Better weather = more walks
    • The machine at our favourite beach car park has been vandalised so free parking :)
    • My first 4 day week :j
    • An unexpected day off with DH yesterday :T
    • I cooked something that wasn't horrible :o
    • Well behaved dogs (mostly)
    • Lots of great January TV

    Future
    • 3 NSDs this week (I think?)
    • Finances all up to date.
    • DH back to using cash for daily spends and I'm checking up on a regular basis to make sure he isn't using his card!

DH is currently 'making something' and it's not going according to plan if his language is anything to go by  I hope we can get out for a quick walk between downpours this evening!

I've just switched to the new forum layout. Not sure why it's taken me so long! It's so much easier to read on my phone but the 'Thanks' button is a pain.

Does anyone else find they can't press thanks on an iphone screen?

Today has been a pain filled day. I'm trying really hard not to let my imagination run wild and scare myself silly. I've self-prescribed a handful of painkillers, a hot water bottle and a slice of cake!

DH made a yummy dinner of flat mushrooms with cheese and garlic, roasted veg and sweet potato - yum! I think I've had 8-9 portions of fruit/veg today!

Managed to get the dogs out and only got a bit wet. I'm ashamed to be so glad Monday is almost over and looking forward to the weekend.

Is it just me or is it quiet on here at the moment?

I'm slowly catching up on some diaries but there's a little way to go yet!

I've had the day off today for the second week and managed to get a lot of jobs done, leaving more time free at the weekend.

    I have:
    • Done two loads of washing
    • Been to yoga
    • Picked up a parcel at the post office
    • Returned some clothes from the FF sale
    • Went to the library
    • Did about 3 hours of schoolwork
    • Walked the dogs on the beach in a hail storm!

  • Hello,

I am glad that you are enjoying your Friday's off but... As I assume you are not being paid for it, why are you doing school work? If you work four days, you should work four days! I know that I am the pot calling the kettle black here as I am guilty of it too, but please don't let your day 'off' mean that you end up working longer for less pay!

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for Visiting my diary!

    Hi SSS

    Thank for dropping in!

Believe me, I know what you mean about working on your day off. I was offered the full-time position to be made permanent but I asked if it could be 4 days because I was having to work at weekends and had no time to myself. Our workloads have increased massively in the last 2 years and one of us always seems to be on the verge of a breakdown.

I should probably do more work in the evenings to keep Friday free. It's all about time management but there don't seem to be enough hours...

Still, there will be big changes at work in the summer term which we are all very pleased about ;)

I've still got the old version when I sign in, but I have slowly got used to the new version for when I'm not logged in. The new version is so much better on my iPhone, but as I'm not logged in I don't know about the thanks button

Hopefully, you are not in too much pain now, but apart from that, things seem to be going nicely

PS - I found the biggest pitfall of part time working was trying to do as much as the full timers! But you gradually adjust to it - enjoy your 'free' day !
