It's so boring once the excitement of payday is over!

I just transferred the contents of my ISA (about £700) into the wedding budget . These were personal savings which I can't really see the point of now as we only have joint savings goals.

I'm a bit worried about the wedding budget though. I recently realised we have to supply our own wine & bubbly etc for the day which we haven't budgeted for. Extra things seem to be appearing every month

    Afternoon all

Just got in from an afternoon walk over the moors. Only did 4 miles but it was quite challenging ground with rocks and mud to slip and trip over. I'm feeling pretty achy which is annoying when you've just finished watching 'Walking the Nile' as we have! Looking forward to an evening with two very tired dogs and two very tired peoples :)

Very little to report financially except Halif@x reward £5 moved to savings. I'm really hoping to get our new mortgage any day now and have the extra money in the bank ready for the building work.

Work is hideous at the moment so I'm spending lots of time daydreaming about ways to leave teaching - not fun :(

Oh dear. My thread is more money spending expert at the moment!

    I've just spent:
£88 dog food - :money: as taking advantage of 20% discount
£240 pet insurance - compared but couldn't find a policy nearly as good to beat the renewal quote. Plus little terrier's previous conditions are still covered.
£559 to architect for building regs drawings etc

So some savings made but it's always scary to see such large amounts leave the account in the space of an hour.

Also, OH managed to double his phone bill this month...on work calls

So the money side of things is going well

    Hello everyone.

    What a week!

Feeling sad about Terry Pratchett. His books have played a large part in my life over the last 20 years. I can't believe there will be no more Discworld novels.

This is the end of the second most stressful week as a teacher. I'm so tired I can barely see... will be back to update properly when I've relaxed (aka drunk copious amounts of wine) and recovered.

    Tell us all about it.
We have lost another good teacher this week. Leaving due to exhaustion.

One of ours has just resigned with no job to go to. Another completely broke down this week in following very negative feedback from the SIP and is not sure if she will return after the holiday. She is an excellent teacher and a positive and confident person, but this was the final straw.

It's such a happy environment to spend your working life!

    Here's to the holidays :)

Too tired to appreciate it at the moment but I'll get there :)
