Oh poor janey...things come in bunches don't they? Hope you've reached the end of your bunch and great things start happening now.

Weekend is only 2 days away. :)

I hate it when you phone with a perfectly reasonable enquiry, because you haven't heard within the advised time scale, and are then made to feel like an an impatient unreasonable nuisance!

This is what normally happens when I phone the doctor and get the rude receptionist!

    You have my complete sympathy.

Hope you get the reply soon.

Aww, sorry it's all a bit pants Janey (and you too Slowly Fading) ... the holidays really can't come quick enough.

Although not entirely healthy ... (especially if they catch you unawares with something of a Frenchie when you've got your mouth open in the throes of saying "down" in a commanding fashion) ... doggie kisses are always so well intentioned and full of adoration, glad you have that on a grim day m'dear!

Hope your hump day isn't too bumpy tomorrow x

Thanks for your comments. Today hasn't been too bad so far (see below for the exception) as I've finally got most of my data ready - just need to show it to the head :o:(

Aaand breathe... I missed the call from the registrar while I went to the office to phone a parent :mad::mad: It seems I don't have signal in that part of the school. She did leave an answer message though saying I have been added to the call list for tomorrow. I will NOT be leaving my desk! I'm seriously considering complaining about this ridiculous system - but only when I'm married and won't be seeing them again!

Today has been a NSD again, even though I forgot to take my lunch. I decided not to pay £3.50 for a tiny, disgusting dinner and chose to survive off a selection of squashed cereal bars which I appear to keep in the bottom of my bag.

Sun is still shining which does help most problems :) We're going to get the bikes out after dinner :) Could be interesting tomorrow :o:eek:

Hope you're enjoying yoga :) today hasn't been great for me either, blah :(

Sorry SF, your quote got bumped off my first reply - it seems I over-multi-quoted!

Work is such a pain in the !!!! sometimes. I'm trying really hard not to wish my life away but it's certainly hard!

This week I am really feeling

I seem to go from :j in the morning to  by the evening. I'm not going to go into details but something is really getting to me and I can't do anything about it! It's putting me in a bad mood and I'm struggling with comfort eating - not good before a holiday

This morning I felt really positive and wanted to write a post to organise myself; now I can't be bothered but I'm going to do it anyway! I'm going to be really busy at work until the end of term, then we go away almost straight away. I'm determined not to wish my life away, but I want to use my time well and I've got a lot to sort out. At the moment I seem to be going to bed late, getting up late, going to work late, flopping down on the sofa when I get in and making regular trips to the kitchen for marmalade on toast. This has to stop!

I love routine and being without one is stressing me out, so I'm going to try to post every day. I want to focus on:

MFW actions: spending as little as possible before we go away instead of buying take away when we're tired.

Diet and exercise: I'm sort of happy with my weight generally but really want to tone up, continue to build strength etc. On the other hand, if I keep eating like this I won't fit into any of my holiday clothes! Also need to stop eating chips -see above :o

To do list: Things seem to be slipping around the house and I hate having to deep clean everywhere in the holidays. I want to do bits little and often. Also have a few holiday things to sort before we go.

Simple pleasures (borrowed from Habibiboo :)): Need to focus on these more!!!

I've probably forgotten something but can add it later!

  • Hello,

I agree, focusing on the simple pleasures helps to put the bad stuff into perspective. Good luck with it all,

Although a church wedding would make my mum happy, it would really not suit us. This is particularly unfortunate as we could get it for free!

    New daily update sort-my-life-out thingy:

    MFW actions:
    • NSD - took lunch with me today although OH is probably putting petrol on the CC about now ;)
    • e-mailed annoying web-based company again about return of non-genuine laptop battery :(
    • Updated spreadsheets :A

    Diet and exercise:
Normal breakfast and packed lunch: Corn flakes, yogurt, cereal bar, chocolate biscuit, cheese roll. Yummy dinner of baked mushrooms with blue cheese and roasted veg, then it went a bit wrong with another yogurt, chocolate biscuit and massive bowl of cereal
Walked dog - sunny evening tempted me to do a 15 min detour to the beach so 45 mins and 2.7 miles

    To do list:
e-mailed lady at wedding venue to inform her that the registrar is finally booked :T

    Simple pleasures
    • Finally managing to answer call from registrar and getting date we wanted :j:j:j
    • Knowing I don't have to stare continuously at my phone between 3.30 and 4.30 for 9 days in a row ever again
    • A sunny evening walk :)
    • Cheering myself up when I was feeling fed up earlier! :o

Now, if I'm correct, the last thing on my list earlier was to go to bed :T

I love routine and being without one is stressing me out, so I'm going to try to post every day. I want to focus on:

I know what you mean, but don't make yourself a slave to it, school is so structured and every minute of your day accounted for (and demanded along with blood, sweat, tears and a major part of your soul) ... sometimes, planning an unplanned stretch of time can be the reward you deserve!

MFW actions: spending as little as possible before we go away instead of buying take away when we're tired.

Make a weekly menu plan of quick meals - stir fries, salads, pasta etc? Nothing that needs major planning or kitchen time but nothing that involves major spends either.

Diet and exercise: I'm sort of happy with my weight generally but really want to tone up, continue to build strength etc. On the other hand, if I keep eating like this I won't fit into any of my holiday clothes! Also need to stop eating chips -see above :o

Going on your bike rides will certainly help and if you can plan in various salad type meals, that'll move you away from chips (I'd keep them on the back burner as an occasional simple pleasure though ;) )

To do list: Things seem to be slipping around the house and I hate having to deep clean everywhere in the holidays. I want to do bits little and often. Also have a few holiday things to sort before we go.

15 minute bursts, focus on one room each evening, it's surprising what you can get done and you'll have done most rooms in the house by the end of the week (unless you have a very big house)!

Simple pleasures (borrowed from Habibiboo :)): Need to focus on these more!!!

You're welcome, most days have them, it's just sometimes they're at the bottom of your bag with the cereal bars ;)

I've probably forgotten something but can add it later!
