I have to say, this sort of comment raises my eyebrow.

Do you feel that any thread you comment on, is a waste of time? No-one has requested that you act in an official capacity. The only one who has given you that role, is yourself.

No, not at all. I often give give my advice quite freely and unrequited. It was just a turn of phrase. I'd rather help someone if I can, regardless. A healthy nation is a productive one. I just see little point in flogging dead horses ;)

You seem intent to pick fault with me. Why is that?

Responding to something you have posted is hardly being intent on picking fault with you.

You stated near the beginning of this thread that you would bow out, then again later, and now here. No-one is forcing you to post, no-one has asked you to post in an official capacity and, well, it all just seems a tad 'flouncy'.

You've offered some sound advice and, well, if your target audience is not 'receiving', there will, no doubt, be someone in the wings who is taking it all in and finding your comments very helpful, so why not just contribute as ~Chameleon~ - an equal participant of this thread? :)
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

I am thinking of the Cambridge but am worried about regaining after meeting my goal weight

Don't do a diet, lose weight through healthy eating, something you can maintain for life. The number of people that regain after VLCDs such as CD is very high.

Because right now I'm a little fragile in health so maybe perceive some people's comments as either dismissive or even a threat upon the advice I've offered. As I said, this isn't a paid service so isn't my priority. My paid clients are. I will offer advice here as and when I can. But that's all it is, advice, based upon a very broad (and often limited) nature of the information people voluntarily post.

I have heard this, as it just is not possible to remain on a vlcd, indefinitely, and once you start eating normally again ...

No worries. I know you have a similar MH illness so fully understand how that impacts upon your life along with potential medication issues xx

    It's an added complication :o

But changing meds is a last resort so attempting to fight the flab via food and exercise, I at least have the motivation to get out and do something now as opposed to being inactive all day! Plus the exercise is good for my mood :) even if the food side is stressing me out a bit

I'm starting to feel uncomfortable posting in this thread. It's incredibly difficult to convey my meaning to people when I don't know what their knowledge of food and nutrition is. I think I'm perhaps alienating some people with my comments. I'm truly sorry.

It's far easier for me to advise a person when I have their full food diary in front of me and I think I've fallen foul to that on occasions here by commenting on the little evidence some people give.

I'm not an advisory service here, and certainly not an unpaid one, so I think I'll start taking a back seat in threads like this as I feel it wastes everyone's time, but more importantly my own.

I am sorry you are feeling that way but i find your posts interesting and its because of a post you made last year, in response to a post i made on the fitness thread that changed my attitude towards calories and food in general.

I realized that you were right about its not about how many calories are in a certain meal or particular food- its more about what nutrients can be gained from that meal. I will see if i can find the post i mean.

    I hope that makes sense^^
