Thanks for all the good wishes - It is done ! :j
Unfortunately for GG, there's no video, but I'll draw a word picture.
It was my scheduled '1 - 2 - 1' meeting with my line manager, who I get on very well with and she's aware of my plans.
We sat down, and I produced an envelope, with a big grin, so she pretended to be reluctant to take the envelope, but opened it.
I'd done a nice letter, as I do like everyone there, and confirmed my leaving date as 18th December.
She was really lovely, and said that everyone will miss me, and she got a bit teary, so I got a bit teary too. We had a nice chat about life in general, it was all very friendly. Afterwards I told my colleagues in my team that I had officially handed in my notice (they knew I would be leaving at some point), and some of them got a bit teary.
I think there' will be a few tears shed on my last day, including me!
But I am happy that it's official now - I'll hear from HR soon with details of holidays that I have left etc,
So, this time in six weeks, I'll be liberated from the working world and it feels pretty good !
I've got tomorrow off work as holiday, so that is helping my mood too :TEarly retired - 18th December 2014
