I hope that works, Goldie - remember that you're going through a huge life change, and even though its positive, its very unsettling. Being kind to yourself is A Good Thing.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I think the word is 'discombobulated' for what you're feeling - just a bit of low level anxiety/confusion about the world tilting on its' axis a bit.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I love discombobulated
(not feeling it, obviously, just the word!!)

I know. If I'm feeling it, thinking about it cheers me up straightaway :T.
I too am somewhat discombobulated at the moment.

another discombobulated soul here. but just naming it discombobulated is sort of cheering in itselfMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
:rotfl:You can't help but grin at the word 'discombobulated'
But that it exactly how I feel at the moment - nothing specific, just general discombobulation!
As Karma says, I'm undergoing a major life change at the moment, and although I'm 100% certain I'm doing the right thing, it's bound to feel a little bit strange from time to time
Plus, every day seems to present a new minor niggle, at the moment. Today's one is a message from an eBay buyer. I sold one of friend's handbags at the weekend. The buyer received it today, and unfortunately the zip fastener ( the little tag) seems to have broken off in the post. I don't know how it could have happened, but they've sent me a photo to confirm. I've refunded, and told them to keep the bag, as there's no real point in sending it back. I seem to have avoided a defect ( I should think so too, I refunded in less than 30 minutes!) but it was a really nice bag, so I'm disappointed that it didn't get to the buyer in good condition. But these things happen!
I suppose I could try to claim from the post office, but it was only a couple of quid, and it might be one life admin step too far for me at the moment.
But, to concentrate on good things
Chilli con carne cooking in slow cooker smells great
Opinion Outpost survey-fest means I claimed a £10 pay out today, transferred to LXF along with £15 earned from friend's eBay sales. £25 in all
I activated 'my offers' on my 123 account. I have a 5% cash back offer for Waitrose. I won't use it this time....... but I might use a similar offer another time.
M&S Platinum Club reward vouchers arrived, £12 in all. Placed with the other ones we've collected, for proposed new clothes purchases next year :j
All ironing completed
This evening I'm going to put my feet up, read, look at MFW diaries or do jigsaws- whatever I feel like doing.
But first, I really MUST draft up that Inland Revenue letter !Early retired - 18th December 2014

I've now prepared the tax letters for both myself and Mr Goldie, so they'll be posted this afternoon. I made the letters as simple as possible, so hopefully, they'll understand what we want to do...... but previous dealings with HMRC don't inspire confidence.
I've been going through the 'Financial Box of Doom', getting rid of things that are no longer required. I've only done a bit, I'll do more later. Considering I last de-cluttered this box this time last year, it's astonishing just how much stuff there is. Where does it all come from??
Mr Goldie has brought home a load of papers from work that he's going through and getting rid of, so the house is filled with the sound of ripping paper.
He also brought home some technical drawing things that he's had for years. Some will have to be binned, but I should be able to sell a few bits. A few years ago I sold off a few other bits that were lying around the house and they sold quite well.
M Goldie is going to the dentists shortly for his latest broken tooth to be looked at. This is one at the back of his mouth, and the dentist has been waiting for this to break for a couple of years.
So that'll be more paying out to do - hopefully he'll keep his gnashers intact from now on!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Poor Mr Goldie! I was in my 40s when the fillings I'd had as a child started giving way ... not pleasant!
The thing about technical drawings interests me, though - I have some technical drawings from quite early in CERN's existence - the molecular accelerator in Switzerland. If you book far enough in advance, you can go underground and actually stare at the containment field of all the quarks and whatnot, and they were giving away the drawings. I wonder ...
