Ouch! Best of luck with that ... you can catch up with yourself, you've done it once, you'll do it again.

Hi goldiegirl, sorry to butt in but I'm currently reading through your diary and I just wanted to thank you for giving me the idea to look on eBay for jigsaws! My dad really loves his puzzles and I'll be getting him some for Christmas, if I get them on eBay he can have more puzzles for my money :D

    Thanks again

    You sound so organised

I'm forcing myself to get this done - at the moment I'm having more and more paperwork arrive at each post. If I don't work through this stuff, I'll be submerged and never be seen again!

Some people buy handbags ..... you buy horseboxes, but you've got to have a treat from time to time!

After your huge reduction in your mortgage balance, I think you are entitled to your treat

Hi Crumpets, glad I've given you a good idea. If I'm buying a used puzzle, I tend to buy ones where there's a picture of the made up jigsaw, so I can be sure all the pieces are there

I've done some housework today and some things from my list, so I think that's enough for now.

Just about to start on a new spag bol recipe from a low salt cook book that I bought a couple of months ago

Thanks, it was very nice - I had to guess the amount of herbs, as the recipe was using fresh and I was using dried. I looked on the internet and it said to use about a third of the fresh herbs. So I did that, and it turned out fine.

I've had a pottering around sort of day today. It was unexpectedly sunny, so I got the towels out on the line, did some housework, and a few more bits on my list from yesterday.

Trouble is, I get to the point when I'm ready for a walk, just as it's about to get dark.

Must arrange my day better :rotfl:

Thats what I found yesterday with my gardening! Decide to do it, and look outside and its getting dark!

Glad you've had some sunshine though, always a bonus at this time of year :)

The sun was nice yesterday, although not enough to dry my towels on the line - when I brought them in they were still almost as damp as when I put them out. I had to finish drying them on the 'horses' in the spare room.

Mr Goldie is busy at work at the moment. He normally has Wednesdays off, but has gone in today. He'll have Friday off instead, and I've got Friday off as well. This busy patch will go on until the end of November, but after that he should have a couple of wind down weeks, to get things tidied up before 'the end'.

I'm just going to do more pottering around today, a bit more housework things, a bit more on my admin list, and have one of those elusive walks, making sure I go out early enough.

I seem to have the mysterious £24.75 Sky payment sorted. As I thought, it was quoted in error, and is not payable. I'll keep the email until after 9th December, just in case.

A jigsaw arrived yesterday, with some really unusual stamps stuck on the parcel.

I was so curious, I had to google them. Two were from the mid 1990's and two were from 1974!

After a bit of research, I found that you can buy completely unused old stamps from eBay sellers, which are still valid for using on letters and parcels. You buy at a discount - for example £23.50 for £25 worth, £40 for £50 worth, and even bigger discounts for more.

I'm well stocked for stamps now, but next time I need some I might try this. It's all completely legal and above board, and a way of slightly reducing eBay postage costs.

The only trouble is, Mr Goldie will probably want to start collecting the stamps!

I've managed to get everything on my list from Monday done, apart from funding the TSB and Santander accounts. I want to wait until I've got two DD's registered on the Santander account - as soon as that happens, I'll transfer money in to start earning interest. I'm waiting until I've got Internet activation for the TSB account, then I can make sure the small transfer worked, before I do the larger transfer.

I also managed to get out for a walk today.

A couple of weeks ago I sent away for some eczema cream, it didn't turn up, so I bought some locally, for a cheaper price. It turned out the envelope was sent back to the seller ( no idea why), so I've got a refund. In future I'll buy this cream at the local chemist, much easier.

As I type this message, there's a white envelope next to me, containing my resignation letter, which I'll hand in tomorrow. That will make it very real.
