A duvet day will do you good :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Hi GG & KC

Yes, it's done me good, I seem to have stopped coughing all the time.

I'm not good with illness, and I always try and work through, when I'm feeling below par.

Trouble is, when you do that, it sometimes delays your recovery

I am learning to stop for a while when needed, but I don't find it easy.

I said it would be a NSD. I forgot that I'd have to pay the alarm man! I've now got a shiny new alarm box handing on the wall outside, and the annual service, which was due next month anyway was also done. It cost £152.70 in all:eek:

But the money was in the 'bill' account, so it wasn't like spending random money!

In other financial news, I've finally managed to do enough surveys in Valued Opinions to earn a £10 M&S voucher :j
I now intend to unsubscribe from VO. Although they offer lots of surveys, I got screened out far too often

  • Hi Goldie

    Just catching up.

Glad you managed to sort out not having an op and that your lifestyle changes seems to be kicking in for you.

After a while, the low-salt diet will become second nature I'm sure...

Hope you have a nice weekend.

    Good guess !

But it's the Little Xtra Fund!

You might not remember, but back in the 1980's the Halifax's children's saving account was the Little Xtra Club. As I worked for the Halifax back then I thought the LXF was a nice nod to my past. The LXF is for all the extra bits of dosh that come my way from cashbacks, surveys, eBay etc

On the subject of surveys, I did about 6 last night - I couldn't believe how many I had.

I've found that Thursdays & Fridays tend to be the best for surveys. Perhaps they are loaded up ready for people to do them at the weekend.

I was reading a new diary the other day, and the poster mentioned that you could save by paying your BT line rental up front. I didn't know this was possible, but we've now done this.

The normal cost per month is £15.99, going up to £16.99 on 1st December. We've paid a sum of £159.84 for the yearly line rental, which works out at £13.32 per month, so a little saving there.

We'll now just have to pay the calls by monthly direct debit

I can't remember who's diary I saw this on - when I re-find the diary I'll add my thanks for the tip.

I continue to take part in the virtual sealed pot challenge each week, a sort of Tilly Tidy for savings. This weeks Tidy was £3.80. So I'm up to nearly £165 for the year - not bad for a couple of quid a week. I'll be using the money towards spending on my holiday at Christmas.

We went out to get some groceries for the week at Sains this morning, at £18.90. I kicked myself though, as I had a £1 voucher which I forget to take. It expires today unfortunately.

It's free listing on ebay from today until Tuesday. I've been furiously listing today. I've managed to get 12 items listed. I'll leave it at that for now, as the packing next week will be busy if they all sell. I might list a couple more things on Monday

Hope everyone's having a good weekend

And a great story about LXF :)

You have a good weekend too. And oh dear, I think I need to finally get cracking on ebay.

    Love the LXF :)
And I'm beginning to get many reminders to get back to ebaying. Really must find the enthusiasm for that once again as did really well at the start of my diary.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
