  • Hi Goldie,

A long time lurker here. I just wanted to let you know that some of the higher interest rate current accounts also want you to switch some DD e.g. L!oyds wants you to switch 2 DD to get the interest, so just make sure you double check before you open the if you don't want to switch anything,

Hi Littlefred, nice to hear from you:)

So far I've only had a quick look at the current accounts, trying to work out which ones don't need the DD's set up

As far as I can see, Nationwide, TSB and Tesco seem to be the most favourable, but I need to sit down and carefully read through the T&Cs

I spent the afternoon on eBay. I'm on a bit of a roll with it at the moment. Tomorrow, I hope to take photos of the rest of the items my friend gave me, plus a few items of my own. Plus, I'll try and prepare a few more listings too.

The idea is, I get everything listed, and make the listings live when it suits me, so I can move on to the next project.

I had a communication from Nectar points, saying the amount of points awarded are dropping. They say there'll be points promotions etc, but they often relate the threshold spends and special offers, that you might not want to buy.

I'll be trying other supermarkets anyway, so it's probably a good time to move away from Sains

Thanks for the signature tip, off to edit mine now.

I have found Mr S getting meaner lately, no decent vouchers with receipt etc. do you have a m0rri50n5 nearby? They are introducing a new reward system and are price matching a**i and l**l

They usually have a deal on the hfx current account too which all adds up.

I've found the till spits from Sainsbo are reducing, yes - and Asda have just popped a £10 off voucher through my door, so I'll be using that. Even basic things are much cheaper there - Basics Sainsbo tinned tatties are 20p, Asda are 15p!!! Got to be a delivery from Asda for me tho, they're too difficult by public transport.

Good to hear you're on a roll with ebay, Goldie, long may it continue (well, till you want it to, anyway :) ).

We've been using Sains for years, ever since we moved here, so there is a lot of habit involved.

When we moved here, it was the only large supermarket around here, and only a few minutes in the car.

We now have a Tosco within a 5 minute drive, but have rarely used it, as it's not in quite as convenient location as Sains.

The nearest Morri is about 8 miles away in the next town. But it's not too difficult to drive too, and I keep getting Hx Reward offers for 10% cashback, so it would be worth giving it a go.

The German supermarket beginning with A is in the next town in the other direction, but only about 5 miles away, and again not a difficult drive.

A$da is not far as the crow flies. But to drive it's either the motorway or the back country lanes, which seems a bit much for supermarket shopping.

Sains have always been very good with online ordering, but we might give A$da a go for delivery to see what happens.

We have managed to reduce our grocery spending a lot this year by making changes to what we buy, but still shopping in Sains.

So the next step, next year, when we have more time, will be to try alternative retailers:)

This morning I've been taking more eBay photos and Mr Goldie is tidying the garden ready for winter.

I'm now going to do more eBay listing.

Phew, that's another 2 days done.

Today was bad, yesterday was unspeakable !

I feel sorry for my colleagues. Most work full time, and they are under constant pressure, and they haven't got and end in sight.

As much as I'm looking forward to stopping, I am concerned about my colleagues. One girl said that yesterday her heart started racing, and she couldn't stop it.

The workload and pressure has been a constant issue since I started there nearly 5 years ago. Management are aware of what is going on in our team, but it's never been satisfactorily addressed.

I'm just a bit worried about some of my colleagues. It's just not healthy. :(

Nothing financial to report apart from 2 NSD's

I'm looking forward to the sunshine.

The end date is planned to be 2 months today, 18th December.

I think I've only just started to realise that it's soon and real, and not some date in the far future.

Currently, my main feeling is relief that it's almost done, but I'm feeling excited too, that freedom is at hand.

It's very warm today. The sheets have dried very well on the line. It was sunny this morning, but it's very dull now. Just wondering whether to chance a walk or not.

I'll be doing an online shop tomorrow, but we went out this morning to buy a chicken and some fruit and spuds for the week. I can't remember how much we spent, about £13 I think.

Just had a rather frustrating online shopping experience.

I need some more of my eczema cream, so I went via TCB to where I bought it before - out of stock, so I clicked through a load of other retailers - all out of stock. There seems to be a shortage. Will have to try again another time.

Then I went through TCB to an online vitamin and supplement site, which I'd had recommended. Put the things I wanted in my basket, created an account, put my payment details in, clicked order, and the page just hung and didn't go through.

In the end, I went back to my usual eBay supplier, a couple of clicks, and it was done. A similar price, but no cash back.

I wasted a good half hour on things at weren't in stock and a site that didn't work as it should.

I do like the internet..... but it can be annoying!

eBay is looking quite good for the weekend. I've got things finishing today, tomorrow and Monday, and there should be some good sales.

I've started a few more listings from the ones I prepared this week.

For Goldie to be our brave and fearless scout as to what life's like beyond the big world of work!

Two months to the day! Sorry it's grot at the moment though Goldie, seems like the end can't come soon enough. Understandable that you feel for your colleagues but I guess that sadly they too will end up having to make their own decisions about what they're prepared to put up with, which seems to be the sad situation employers are putting people in all across the MFW threads at the moment (and I'm not just talking about old Mr Hbbb there)!

Glad you have warmth and sunshine, weird kind of day here!

Well done with sticking to the Ebaying! :T x
