Hi Giblet, thanks for dropping in
I've been talking about Greenmetropolis - last week I withdrew my selling proceeds of £32.29 (accrued over a long time) The funds hit my bank account today, so the money has been transferred over to the HAF
The rummage in the loft yielded a home cinema surround sound system!
I've got it photoed, and the ebay listing is ready to go live at the weekend.
I've also decided that competition entries on a grand scale are not for me! Maybe just a couple from time to time when I feel like it, but no more than that, as it's a lot of effort for the likelihood of an almost nil return!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Goldie - pleased to hear you had a good result on the eye test.
I agree with Giblet too that considered spends are the key. It would be unreasonable (and very boring!) if we never spent money. There has to be some pleasure in life after all!0 -
Good luck with the eBay listing. It is amazing what you can find in your own loft!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

I think sometimes the money saving mindset takes over, and you start to question everything that is being spent.
I have to say, my BLT sandwich was very pleasurableSecret_Saving_Squirrel wrote: »Good luck with the eBay listing. It is amazing what you can find in your own loft!
I know, I think Lord Lucan may be hiding up there!:rotfl:
Just bracing myself for work tomorrow, although it shouldn't be too bad, we're at the quieter time of the month, and I'm doing one of the job roles that shouldn't be too arduous.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Amazing find in the loft ! Fortunately we don't have one - well only a tiny loft as house is 1.5 stories rather than a real 2 storey house - but - Mr Watty does have a very large barn that I keep muttering about decluttering. He has however fitted an additional lock at a height I cannot reach :rotfl:Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

Mr Goldie gets worried when I start to talk about decluttering the garage and the shed. He has lots of old tin cans with a few nails in each. I've suggested one tin can for all the nails, but he's not convinced it'd work!:rotfl:

Work was not too bad at all today. If it was like today more often, life would be a lot easier.
I know it's bad.... but I've counted up the working days until my new likely end date - 38 days ! :j
Nothing much to report on the financial front.
Just a low spend day, 99p on a Kindle book, requested by Mr G.Early retired - 18th December 2014

:T now that is definitely something to cheer about! :j0 -
38 days to go - fabulous! Reminds me of the wall chart I would make (laboriously, by hand) when the exam schedules were announced at school each year. And every day I would spend half an hour colouring in a box! My focus was always on when they would be over, not when they would begin!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Hee hee, I like the idea of a wall chart!
Bur I'll probably stick to marking the days off in my diary, although I don't want to wish my life away.
Weird day at work today, very quiet, so it really dragged.
