I would have far more sympathy for them if they could just acknowledge that whay they did was wrong rather than just saying "everybody else does it" but any criticism of them and they start spouting thats its "not helpful", nor is jetting off meeting the pope but they were more than happy to do that
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D

    was their appartment place locked?
if so did anyone else report any suspicious looking people trying doors etc.

was the family being watched and targeted dya reckon?
if the kidnappers watched the family and saw their blatant negligence and took the op to snatch a kiddy.

it all strikes me as very weird that the kidnappers went to the mccanns and half inched a child and !!!!!!ed off without anyone noticing anything.

Also why didn't they take the twins?

I think maybe they were being watched, and who ever it was saw that they left their children alone on a regular basis. But who knows?

I think you must just have missed this information. This was something they were focussing on from the very beginning, that she had such an identifiable feature in her eye. It has been mentioned a LOT.

There are "look into my eyes" posters of her, pointing out the fact you would recognise her from her eye.

Really? I have watched a lot of the footage on tv and didn't know this....I haven't seen any of the posters though.

The apartment was unlocked, reason given by ths mcs was in case of fire, did they expect Maddy to drag her 2 siblings out, because the parents sure as he** werent close enough to save them, they were dining 50 yards away at Tapas bar and according to their friends they did this every night of the holiday,so it was no mistake it was pure and simple neglect.According to the P.J.their was no sign of a break in.I bet the mcs didnt leave their wallets/purses etc in the apartment yet they left the most precious things on earth, their 3 tiny children, whilst they went out to eat drink and be merry every night. There is lots of info on this case over on the mirror forums.

Does anybody here know what the law regarding neglect actually says? What exactly does neglect entail?

Its naughty of them to leave thier daughter alone in such a dangerous world.
But hey, they needed a night out, they didnt know.
  • There were more than just them on the holiday. Why not take shifts at watching the children? One person did one night, another the next night? Or take the kids with them for a bit? Or would it ruin the McCann's holiday? I don't have kids, so I'll probably be shot down, but if I did (and I do want them soon), I would never leave them alone in a strange country, even if someone was checking on them every half hour...

    Er...what didn't they know?

That the world is a dangerous place?
With people who kidnap kids? And do even worse things than that....?
If they didn't know that, what planet have they been living on for all of their lives?

    And 'naughty'?
    Try irresponsible...or stupid.....or selfish....or guilty of neglect.....or.....

And why did they 'need' a night out?

I don't have kids (but I do have a 7 year old niece and a 3 year old nephew) and I KNOW that my sister would NEVER, EVER leave them alone in the way that the McCann's did to Maddie and the twins.

Surely when you have kids they come first - not wining and dining.

I do hope that Maddie is somewhere safe (i.e. she has been taken specifically for a childless couple) as the alternative is too awful to contemplate.

I guess the McCann's will have to live with this for the rest of their lives - and that is no less than they deserve.
