Must admit, it looked like spam. But what we need is for the business reps to be properly approved by the MSE team, and to start to post on here as business reps, with a proper laid out web page, with a UK address, and complying to all UK business rules and regs, etc. The problem we're going to see is copycat services from PPC's, that'll obviously go nowhere, without some way of vetting the services first.0

Fair enough. But given the contentious nature of the "business" in question - and the fact that even those involved don't make their involvement clear (for instance, as a signature) - I will continue reporting any newbie that seems to have registered with the sole intent of promoting the service, and will leave it to the mods to decide.
The simple fact is, we have to take the moral high ground when fighting PPCs, and that means complete transparency. With all due respect to those involved, I feel there is too much of a conflict of interest right now.
Given the two individuals have limited their posting completely since they started their business you are talking rubbish. Now of course, if you'd care to name the two individuals just to prove you know what you're talking about feel free."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

I haven't posted on this forum much recently obviously due to the business - can you direct me to the other thread.
Unfortunately not as it appears to have been removed.4consumerrights wrote: »Perhaps though you would like to target the Parking Companies themselves a bit more ....
We went to Parkex and had meaningful discussions with Steve Clark and the Minister for Transport and not least to some parking companies.
I post here as and when I can; there are already a great number of regulars offering good advice though, and in many cases I would only be repeating what others have already said. It's laudable that you are using your time to discuss the issues with those in power, but does not change the fact that you are still posting on here with a vested interest in a related business, and without making it sufficiently clear.
@Hot Bring - 4cr and kifl. Not sure why that matters though? We're on the same side here, PPCs are bad news. Can you really see nothing suspicious about the newbie post? Do you not think both parties should register with MSE because of their potential conflict of interest?0 -

The quick answers are No and No. There are plenty of other MSE forums where customers of businesses are recommending their services such as this case.
4CR and KIFL have barely posted recently and never, as far as I have seen, promoted their business in the few posts they have made. To me that seems fine and above board."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

In this case it's the first post of someone with an unusually specific username. And they're at least the second one-time poster this week, the last one basically told an OP that it was worth the money to make it go away, when the OP had already been given plenty of good advice on how to appeal for free. I make no apology for reporting either post.
I think we may have to agree to disagree. As before we're on the same side, and the most important thing is that we all give our time for free to help motorists fight PPC charges for free. This is MSE after all :beer:0 -
Wasn't there another firm, run by a PPC, offering the same service promoted somewhere on here as well?0

Not forgetting of course those endless threads where the op refuses to follow advice and then on the last day of any appeals 'window' posts up asking if someone write their appeal for them?
Perhaps you could find the time to go and moan about something more worthwhile.0 -
Let us face it, many of the people who come here could not organise light refreshments in a bordega.
For £16 they can have the hands held and their noses wiped. I would probably use them myself if I picked up a CPN while I was out of the country. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
So we can only assume you miss all the countless repetitive posts that people make in reply to the valid answers and replies they are given with regards to resolving their ticket problems?

Don't see how that's relevant. I've made my point, multiple newbie posts in a short space of time look somewhat suspect. We've all seen the likes of Perky register under pseudonyms and many of us will have reported those posts too.
Yes, some OPs come on here and wilfully ignore our advice, and this service is probably worthwhile for them. I won't "moan" about them because they're only hurting their own wallet and it's just not worth it. In fact I'm not moaning here either - just questioning whether a newbie is legitimate. We've all done that, too.
Funnily enough, the suspicious-looking post has now been removed, so maybe the mods agreed?0 -
Posts get auto-removed if reported as spam by more than one poster I think. So no decision was likely to have been made to remove it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
