No, it is totally against the ethos of this board, and open to massive abuse. People could come along and offer to deal with a PPI claim for you, or take your double glazing supplier to court, or get your speedinhg ticket cancelled.
If Martin allows such goings on we shall all become infested with ambulance chasers, mortgage advisers, relationship counsellors, and tarot readers. Let's keep these boards for amateurs.
I have recently already mentioned on here the poor quality of advice self proclaimed experts on MSE dish out.
OK, KIFL has 2,000+ posts on here, so his motives and advice are probably sound, but there is another poster on this very sub-forum, B***Y who, with 7,000+ posts, sometimes spouts absolute rubbish. He also posts on CAG where he has notched up over 20,000 posts. I have reported him to both administrations who have said that they will keep an eye on his posts. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Ok, as I said this wasn't meant as a person dig, but there we go, lets address some of the issues:
1) Would I go to court? Yes Ok in that case i will pass on the next court case in Aberystwyththen you can rock up and offer your advice to joe bloggs
2) Indemnify the user - do you actually though? Do you have an insurance policy that will pay out should you be unable to pay the parking charge, e.g. you are experiencing cash flow problems, or should you cease trading whilst half way through someones appeal etc? Do you identify yourself as the driver so as to make the keeper no longer liable? No because this would be a criminal offence With regards to indemnify a user, i have enough liquidity to cover any projected losses
3) Bailiffsonline - Bailiffs have real powers, unlike the PPC's, so yes sometimes it is worth paying for advice, especially where they have immobilised/seized property or where criminal proceedings could result But you can get baliff advice for free if you want it
4) Do you actually have permission from MSE to advertise/promote/drum up business? Should you not be registered as a business poster so that people can see that you have a vested interest?I have indeed spoken to MSE thanks and i think what you will find is being done is simply the offering a link to an alternative service
And shortly the should be no need to advise users of the serviceProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I would rather pay you guys here than give anything to any PPC firm.0

You really shouldn't hold too much sway against posting figures - often they aren't the whole picture"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

I would also like to point out that I have never said I disagree with the business idea. If people are willing to pay for the service either because they cannot be bothered to do the leg work themselves or because they value their time to such an amount that they feel the fee is cost effective way of dealing with the matter then all power to them.
All I was trying to do was start a debate on how this type of service should be promoted.
In terms of liquidity, I understand what you are saying, but I personally would be dubious about using a company, who couldn't absolutely guarantee that they would have enough money to settle the matter and as such I would still be liable. I would then have to sue the 'business' for my loss.0 -
I am getting them from CAG.
Are you sure that you have understood to whom I am referring?
He posts on both boards with a user name of B***y. He is a royalty account holder there, lives in Scotland and has retired from the telecoms industry.
Why do you dispute my figures? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Sorry "the deep" i misunderstood who you were referring to
