And there's a sneaky SFD... then again, haven't left the house...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Sorry to hear about lost moggies and totals going awry - but a smug that is great to applemuncher for your cheque! That must have been a very nice feeling, but slightly surreal if unexpected. You prompted me to look up a very old account I have hanging around that I need to go into the bank to close...but sadly, its very definitely only got £10.12 in it. I will go and close it this coming week though
It was lovely to come home to my house as the cleaner came in and she did all of the rooms, not just the ones that the new guests were using. Feels lovely luxury, but by her coming in we managed to get through two lots of guests not just one in the week I was away, so was worth the co-ordination and effort I think! I would do it that way again if there was the chance.
Less lovely to come home as guests are here (although they are very nice, they are sleeping in the lounge aswell as the bedroom, so DD and I are sharing her room, and we have limited access to the lounge for the weekend). Luckily they and we are going out lots, so we should be fine.
Planning a low spend weekend if we can. Got a birthday party but present covered - came from my amazon giftcard. May go for a swim near my relatives on Sat as we are over there anyway, and I have just found some vouchers we have from way back when we lived there - amazingly still in date! 6 adult swims on there!
Spendy day today...£86 in bravissimo...as I was near their store for work (it is hundreds of miles to the nearest for me usually) and in desperate need of some underwear that doesn't hurt me! Been hanging on and hanging on for ages. Great service from the fitting ladies in there. I also tried on some of their clothing range - have found myself a interview / smarter work outfit but did not buy it, just noted the right size combination. At least I'll know that I can just ring and order it if needed. So tricky to find things that look ok on me for work.
My course has left me with some interesting ideas about work and careers. Some new opportunities are opening up this summer that I hadn't thought about putting myself forward for before. Been encouraged to think about them which is a complement in its own right! They do depend in a small part on both solvency and fitness so gives me even more incentive to try hard over the next few months. It also feels hard to move up through an organisation without spending money on yourself...I feel a bit of a need to be more smartly turned out these days. Some of my work clothes do date from pre DD (she is 12 now!) and everything is starting to give up on me at the same time. I will be pondering how to manage a bit of a smartening up transformation over the next few months this weekend.0 -

Cottage retreatist - so sorry to hear about your kitty
I cancelled Harley's pet insurance yesterday - he's been missing 7 wks now with no sightings whatsoever, I don't think he's coming back:(
Thank you his missus and others,
I'm so sorry yo hear about your fur baby-isn't it dreadful when it's unexpected? I hope he does come back one day!
We managed a NSD today! Small consolation we spent most of it in silence on the sofa.
Hope everyone is doing well? Can't believe it almost the end of hone month already.

I'll need to pop on later and update the food and spends totals. I also need to get petrol, so it's going to be a spendy day. My only real planned spend is for Fat Club, but as it's Mr Mooo's birthday another spend might come along. That will come from my birthday pot though so shouldn't count for this challenge unless I empty it0 -
sorry to hear about !!!!! cats cottage retreatist and his missus
crazy lady- have you thought about looking on ebay for new work stuff? mine was getting tatty so bought myself a monsoon dress for £8.99 inc p&p and had lots of compliments and also a white stuff dress for around £10
also re the bras, also worth looking on ebaythe factory that makes alot of the stuff they sell in bravissimo is near my parents and they often have good sales. its clear that people go there and buy loads to flog on ebay (can tell by their location!) so you could save a good amount. also check out the figleaves ebay shop as they too have good bargains, thats where i get my swimwear from as i need proper bra ones which are way too much in the shops. they let you return stuff as well if it doesnt fit
so i have not had a good week as done lots of really really naughty eating and prob spent about £10 buying junk food from the shopfrom tomorrow i am off the sugar again (having 3 course meal tonight!). need to be good for holiday at beginning of june when i will be in my bikini. 6 weeks today so going to aim for 1.5lbs per week will be a loss of 9lbs. goal weight for holiday is 10st 8lbs.
should we start a thread for our weight loss/fitness? just thinking not everyone in the challenge wants to/is able to/needs to loose weight!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Today is starting out to be a good day!
I finally got my DF badge...twirls so you can all see it!
I've also just managed to analyse my bank statement to see what I have left, taking out all payments that still need to be made for April. I'm a YNAB user so it makes it easier to see. I have close to £400 that I don't need to pay out on bills. I'm pretty chuffed with this. I thought with two trips to Devon that I wouldn't be able to save more then £200.
I know I should have shifted the savings at the start of the month but I knew it was going to be an expensive month and its still only the second month of my new account so didn't want to risk it. I'm pretty chuffed:jFeb NST #4

Morning everyone...
Also sorry to hear about wayward kitties! Let's hope they're just off exploring!
Well my car service/MOT happened... I'd budgeted £400.00 but could have streched to £600.00 - but it came back at £175.00!!! Hoorah! That £225 extra I hadn't expected to have has set my budget straight and means I can clear some extra off the debt!!! Good times! Got a tonne of Nectar Points too - and am nearly at £40 which I'm saving for a rainy day.
Off to the gym soon so will report back after there

Hi all.
Have been away on holiday since Monday.
Sorry to hear about the cats cottage & his missus.
I am not going to reach my SFD target of 16 this month, I am at 9 at the moment and spent money every day last week whilst away but it was all cash from the holiday budget. We had a very cheap holiday on the whole, had fun and we are all exhausted.
I am in a new month for spending money and grocery shopping now as I run from 26th to 25th. Last month I had a grocery budget of £350 for 4 weeks which included extras for Easter holidays and being away, I have had a funny month due to some vouchers and their expiry dates so have ended up with 5 grocery shops and still came in £17 odd under budget so I am really pleased about that.
I took my running kit on holiday and it is the first time ever that I have taken it and actually used it. I ate things I wouldn't have had I been at home but was very pleased to get weighed this morning and have lost 1lb, the best I was hoping for was staying the same. The next target for me is 8lb off by the end of May.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I forget that I did my debt repayments this morning for May and have paid £481.58 off. It would have been more but I had a £216 bill to pay. I also paid money into my car expenses and Christmas/birthdays account and they are building up nicely now.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
