There are plenty of Kronenbourg 1664 women at work - look 16 from the back, and 64 from the front.....that's why my hair is short!!

Haha love it! :rotfl: That is so true though! It's like someone who is described as BOBFOC (body off bay watch, face off crime watch!)

I guess it all depends on the individual. If you look youngish OP then you could no doubt get away with it for a long while yet, but for some people it can be very ageing.

There are very many things worse!

I'm a bit younger than the OP (35) and have waist-length fair hair. It suits me, and I like it. I won't be cutting it on some calendar date.

Like other fashions, these change - when my Granny was 35, short hair was for young, modern women, and long hair for their Victorian grandmothers!

One of my grandmothers died at age 54 and all my memories of her are with the short immaculate hair which we today associate with maybe an 80 year old..looking back at photos of her when i was a baby she had just turned 40 and had the same hair do even then matching the twin set and pearls she always wore.

Up until the age of about 23, I had very short hair, then for the next 15 years I grew my hair longer, but got really bored with it, so I had it cut short again. I've had short hair ever since. It wasn't an age thing that made me change, just a boredom thing.

Only read the first post, and I will go back and read the rest, but I think if you are only going to pull your hair back in a ponytail, then you might as well cut it off.

When my hair was long enough to go in a ponytail, that is literally all I did with it. Now it's just that tiny bit too short to tie back and I have no choice, but to straighten it. But I'm glad, as it's only takes me 10 minutes after I've washed it. But for some reason, I just never bothered when it was longer.

I think my hair looks much better short, although this is more down to me actually doing something with it now.

Exactly what i do....wash it once a week and just stick it up the rest of the time....bit of a waste of time having all this hair and not doing anything with it. Plus my 11 month grandaughter has taken to pulling on the ponytail and trying to feed it to the dog!

Seriously, do you think this woman looks 63?

A lot of it has got to do with good skin, good bone structure but her hair has had a good cut, colour and is in a flattering style.

I notice that she largely wears her long hair brushed away from her face which would account for it not dragging her face down.

You're so right about that! :rotfl: Now my husband works from home, he only shaves about once a week, and gets his hair every 4-5 months or so.

My hair desperately needs coloured, I'm building myself up to it! I've had the hair dye for ages now, but I can't get myself motivated to do it, even though it really needs a refresh. My hair is a couple of inches below my shoulders too, and I'm contemplating getting it cut short(er), but I'm that used to my security blanket of long hair!
