Because if it's an apple you will just get crab apples if it's below.

Mine went to complete a few days before anything happened. I had a tracking number but all it said was receipt at hub for over a week. I checked today and according to Hermes, they attempted delivery this morning. No they did not. It's saying re-attempt tomorrow. That's Hermes though, not Leadthegoodlife. So I'm still waiting...

Above - all the lateral branches were broken off leaving one stem.

It has a chance then, watch out for branches trying to start below the graft and nip them out.

Hi All,

I am complete newbie to gardening :-)

I am doing up my garden in the new house and I already have a mature pear and apple tree. One of the apple trees was almost dead (I had 2) so I removed it and now I am worried about the remaining apple tree as I believe you need another one for them to fruit :-(

Anyway can I plant a new apple tree and how long will it take to fruit/mature? I am also after other fruit trees Cherry/Plum.

Any advice what I should and advice on caring for existing trees/fertilizing etc.

i would visit the greenfingers thread they are really helpful and will have some good answers.

some trees dont need another one or you might find a neighbour has one , if you plant a new tree it depends on the size i have been getting aldi and lidl fruit trees over the last few years and most of them have started fruiting the second year after getting them..
