gone through the application process, no where does it ask to select your local gym? Is this correct? Or do i select the gym after i receive the application form in the post? Thanks

You get the gym membership after you sign up for the insurance. Remember Pruhealth sell insurance, not gym memberships so it's not going to be part of the application process.

    Hiya guys,
I am thinking of taking out this offer.
Just wondering if this is still a good deal. I am planning on joining Cannons, and go 2 - 3 times a week for fitness, so I dont have any concerns about the "cant be used for the bar, Internet, etc".

I my quote was about £26 a month, so I think over a year this should make sense for me. Only question is, if you go on holiday for say 2 weeks, do you make the time up after?

Also if my understanding is correct you can cancel this policy at any time, which will cancel the gym membership. If this is correct, anyone have any ideas of what the early termination fee is, if there is one?

    Thanks in advance.

You can call up Pru to get your membership no, and join a gym before getting your welcome pack. I did that, as there was a postal strike going on at the time.

It is calculated every quarter, so you just need to go around 26 times/quarter. Note: they only count 15/month.

No termination fee as far as I know. You can't just cancel the gym though, to cancel gym, you need to cancel insurance. At least in the first year (I think).
PS. You do know that you need to pay for your first quarter and activation fee for gym whether you go hundreds of times or not;) (£100).

Thanks for the replies, if I was to cancel I would cancel the insurance, as I only want that to get the cheaper gym membership.

Yes I know I need to pay for the first 3 months a joining fee £25 ish, monthly insurance £26ish and then gym membership. Then based on how often I go, gym should be £0.

Another question for you knowledgable folk.
I currently have health insurance through my company, and I pay nothing for this.
I am concerned that if I take out this cover, that there will then be a requirement to use Pruhealth even though I dont want to, this will then possibly result in costing me additional money.

    Any ideas?

I took out this policy PURELY to get the cheap gym membership as I do not intend to make a claim/unlikely to. If you only need the gym for cheap then sign up for this one but make sure doing so does not invalidate your existing policy (check).

If you read through this thread, I think you will see this question has been asked already. I think the answer was something like, if you have more than one policy there is a responsibility on both companies to contribute to a claim.....something like that.

I have checked with AXA who I have through my company, and there is no isssue. They inform me you can only claim through one, so as far as they are concerned they have no interest if I have another if I claim through them, based on my package they take care of everything,

So I think I will sign up.
