Joined PruHealth, and found out they calculate the gym visits (twice a week thing) from today - 31st January for my first 3 month, as I joined mid-month. That means I need 31 visits till 31st Jan to qualify for free gym.

Just thought I share this info;)

Also, despite having been to the gym about 8 times since I joined up none of them have been registered on the pruhealth website so no vitality points as yet...

  • Are any of these gyms in or near Newcastle? I checked and the nearest one is almost 70 miles away?! Surely this is a mistake? Can 3 seperate companies really neglect us Geordies so much?

Bupa are offering free gym membership to fitness first without the requirement of having to go more than twice a week. It's off peak membership though, and costs £10-15 a month to upgrade to peak time membership.

Apart rom the central london clubs which are peek time memberships

That doesn't make much sense, normally the city ones are more restrictive, not less.

While £10-15 isn't bad, it's essentially free on Pru. Does Bupa lower your premiums too? Next year it should be £5 per month for the premium and the Gym will be free

Guys, don't forget, Boots is 1/2 price premiums until 31st Oct, which might work out cheaper than cashback and is guaranteed to work

Oh, BTW, got my Advantage card today, only took them 3 weeks!

yeah i thought the same, i asked the quy 3 times if was sure and he repeatedly said it was. The terms and conditions say..

"2.New BUPA members can upgrade their complimentary off peak membership to a peak membership by paying £15 per month (London boroughs) or £10 per months (provinces)."

"4.Off peak memberships are not available in the following Fitness First gyms: America Square , London City; Berkeley Square , London West End; Bloomsbury , London City; Chancery Lane, London City; Covent Garden , London West End; Embankment, London West End; Fetter Lane, London City; Gracechurch St , London City; Grt Marlborough St , London West End; Hammersmith, London West End; High Hoborn, London City; Kingly St, London West End; Liverpool St , London City; London Bridge , London City; Palace St, London West End; Paternoster Sq, London City; Queen Victoria St, London City; Shepherds Bush, London West End; South Kensington , London West End; Victoria , London West End. Upgrades to peak memberships are available at these gyms."

which seems to imply the upgrade is free. It better be, thats the reason i took it. I would have gone with pruhealth, but fitness first is closer and more convient for me

I phoned up PruHealth, and they told me they only get the visits log from the gym every 3 weeks. I'm not sure if he was talking about my gym (Cannons) or all gyms though;)

Does anyone know how much Cannons guest pass costs, and does the guest need to take the fitness assesment test?
