I believe the changes are for new customers on Pruprotect, not existing. As soon as I get to Plat - as I will also get a cineworld season tickey - yippee

Yup . . . I meant the "extra" discount for people holding pruhealth and pruprotect. i.e. I got my platinum cineworld card for £15 instead of £25. I think that additional discount has disappeared now for everyone.

.... Luckily I got my Cineworld Card for £15 before the change came in!

luckyfool, I got a question for you. I have got no Cineworld near me, only Odeon. My brother lives next to Cineworld. So the question is ... does Pru sent you personalised cinema pass, or some sort of voucher that I can give as X-mas present to my brother?

    Hi,

Did you know that you can free gym membership for taking out life or critical illness cover as well - not just health cover?

As a lot of people have mortgages with life/critical illness cover to cover the mortgage, it is possible to get free gym membership just by swapping insurers. That way you are paying for a policy you do need and getting free gym membership..

    Dpac

Important regarding Pruprotect (Not Pruhealth) you cannot get Free gym membership via Pru Protect on policies with start dates after 16/11/08. From that date onwards £30 per month for your gym membership (on platinum) is now the cheapest your gym membership can be via Pruprotect. If you want virgin active you need to add £8 and if your inside the M25 maybe more still depending on which gym. The vitality discounts have also changed as 'luckyfool' mentioned.

For those who already have Pruhealth and are confident they are going to get to platinum every year and they actually want/have life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection or unemployment cover. Then certainly look at Pruprotect because your premiums will go down 2% (compounded) every year that you get to platinum. I can get 50% you of your first years premium as cashback as well.

I have a power point presentation of the new Pruprotect deal and discounts if anyone is interested please let me know.
  • Does anyone get guest vouchers for Cannons through PruHealth, so you can take a guest with you, I have a friend who might want to join, but would like a few visits to see if they like the feel of it.

Anyone can get a free day pass via their website: http://www.cannons.co.uk
Or one could buy a voucher using Nectar points: http://www.nectar.com/rewards/generalSearchOfferDetailsCatMain.nectar?ROM=ROM0007737

This may be a silly question, but is Pru Health premium going to reduce because of the vat reduction? - I am not too sure if VAT is payable on insurance.

If not on premium what about the gym membership, I am going to be paying £8 as i go to LA fitness within M25...any chance I am going to make any savings??

    Cheers

    Hi Shazam,

You do not pay VAT on health insurance. You pay IPT (insurance premium tax).

I woulden't hold your breath on the gym membership reducing. But its possible.
